You don't need a walk-through on changing a timing belt. Here's what you need to do:
- Support engine and remove front engine mount (the one on the FRONT of the engine) - Remove accessory belts. - Remove crank pulley. - Remove timing covers - Reinstall crank pulley bolt and rotate crank until the timing marks on the crank gear and cam gear line up (this is Top Dead Center, Cyl #1) - Mark the old belt at these marks (optional, but I always do it wit white-out on any car I do a t-belt on) - Remove tensioner or lock tensioner in full-loose position if you're not replacing it. - Match up the marks you made on the new belt. - Install new belt counter clockwise, starting with the crank, making sure your marks line up. - Release tensioner and rotate crank 2 full revolutions. Re-check timing marks on the cam/crank gears to make sure they're still lined up. Done. |
