like the valves. I just changed the oil but it ticks a little. enough to hear when you listen to it idle.

are you getting oil pressure? Have you checked to make sure your oil level is good? Are you getting the red oil pressure warning light?

nope! i got it once when i changed the oil. thats was the only time. what do you think is going on?

ok... changed spark plugs, and dist. cap. same thing. when its cold or I haven't turn on the car for a while it will act like this. It'll keep bogging and loose power then gain power, and repeat over and over again until I have driven it for like... 2 mins. when the engine warms up it drives just fine as if nothing has ever happened. any ideas?

check for exhaust leaks at the manifold/head flange.

I had an engine like yours as thats what we got down under. When i pulled it out for a Beams engine , man i was so surprised wwith the amount of vacuum hoses, gee the Beams has only 2 short ones.
Here is the question have you got them ALL CONNECTED ?.
Most people that have problems with swaps is either something is NOT CONNECTED OR WIRING

it ran fine until it started getting cold down here. now that its cold it just struggles to even move. lol... today I got stuck @ 2k for like 10 seconds

I'm pretty sure all the vac lines are hooked up right. I am going to double check everything tomorrow if its nice outside.

An exhaust leak can do this to my engine?

yes sir! I did some researching and saw that when this happends to turbo mr2's they turn the screw on the intake box 2 turns counter-clockwise position. Then they reset the ecu. I just imitated it and used the screw by the acis and turned it back two full turns with out resetting the ecu. It seems to pick up better, better rev response. Lets hope it works like this tomorrow morning also.

here's the follow-up! its been raining very hard for the past two days here and car runs great now. guess it was just that screw. lol... Just going to reset the ecu just in case.YEAH, DONT RESET THE ECU. It started bogging and lagging again. going to try to turn the screw some more.

here is where it stands now. runs good now on most rainy days. now it'll act weird on very cold days/cold rainy days. got that sluggish problem again. It wont actually run right until it reaches the half way point on the temp gauge. why is this? cold start faulty?
