Power Steering Issue

Hey, I'm new to the MR2 world, and I'm working on my girlfriend's 91. It has the 2.2, no turbo, and we just got it the other day. Drove it home and started doing the maintenance that should be taken care of. Belts, filters, oil change, and cooling system flush.
During the cooling system flush, the hose that goes to the heater core started leaking, and some water and steam got onto the battery and surrounding components. After the system flush, refill and bleed, I got in the car to run it, and noticed that the P/S light had come on. I came and got on the computer immediately to see what I could do, and found that sometimes the relay contacts get dirty, so you cycle on/off with the key a number of times, then it will work. Tried that. I tried pulling a code, and it's fine when the car isn't running(steady flashes- 2 per second), but with the engine running, I get a code 11. The motor works, as I jumped it with the batter pos/neg terminals.

What I'm wondering is, did that small amount of moisture wreck anything? I pulled all the connections apart, and they don't look soaked or wet or anything. The ECU is up high, so I'm certain that nothing more than steam got on it. There is the small computer looking module down lower.. but it wasn't in standing water. Can anybody help me or give me any kind of advice? Thank you.

was having trouble with the PS coming on w/my new 93 n/a too, try cleaning the terminals and connectors again with a wire brush, reseat the positive cable tightly. once reconnected, turn the key to accessory and it sounded as if the PS motor is resetting with some whining.
