Your '91 wires are part number 90919-21486. Toyota's suggested list price is $72.15. Your cost on them through us with the MR2 discount is normally $56.39. We are actually have a sale on tune-up parts right now, with an extra 10% off, making them $50.75 plus about $12 to ship. So for not much more than crappy AutoZone parts that are built to sell cheaply, you can have real Toyota parts that are actually designed to work perfectly on your car for years at a time. We have them in stock and ready to ship, so give me a call if you do want to order them. You know, Bosch used to be pretty decent stuff, about twenty or thirty years ago. You don't need to "upgrade" your coil. It is more than adequate for lighting any fire your 5SFE will ever make. You will not gain anything by replacing it unless it has simply worn out. Don't aftermarket wires drop resistance a bit? Or are toyota wires made better than other stock wires..?

Not unless you are comparing "performance" wires to stock wires, or aftermarket to really badly made (non-Toyota) OEM wires. Even so, wire resistance is not the horsepower bottleneck that the advertisers would have you believe. It is only a very small component in the ignition / combustion process.
Excess resistance will cause problems, but decent OEM wires don't come anywhere near excess resistance for a street engine. Well, yeah. Toyotas are built better than most cars, and that is partly because they are built out of better parts. Remember too, the difference between good and bad is much more than just resistance. There's also proper fit (to the distributor cap, the spark plug well, and to the engine in general), plus durability, longevity, build quality, and adequate insulation - which is not measured in diameter, but in the ability to insulate the conductor from the outside world and vise versa. |

There is no "link". We don't have online ordering yet.

What, our phone number? It's (800)888-6305. It is also in my banner ad, which is in my signature, and if you have signatures turned off, you can always find us in the Sponsors page. Just ask for me (Aaron) when you call in. If I am busy, Tracy can also help you. Remind us that you have a quote saved under number 51284 and that will pull up the wires for your car.
