high idle help

when i first start the car it revs at 2k then settles down to 1.5k after 5 mins or so. i have done a tune up and looked at some of the vacum hoses. i been doing some research on here and check the iscv and it did almost seem like it was going to die but didnt die.also the screw is all the way down on the throttle body. is there anything else i could check to be able to fix this problem??
thanks in advance
91 mr2 na 5spd if needed

I am having the same problem. I boght my car and this guy was saying it was stuck in lag mode and i needed to reset the the ecu, also that the timing was retarded completely, I also have 2 cylinders running low compression. Might help you but im in the same situation and would also like to know.

I replaced the thermostat and coolant, my temp is in the proper range. I worked on the timing a little bit, checked the distributor cap and rotor, they had water in them. Quite a substantial amount, from what? maybe condensation. I replaced the cap and rotor. and got the timing pretty close. the idle adjuster is all the way down and my RPMs are still around 1100 this is too high to pass a smog test. Im going to try using propane to find any vacum leaks, im going to run a dry and wet compression test. How else can i get the idle down? i am also going to plug into the ecu and see what she says, i think that the prick i got the car from did something to hide stuff from me cut a wire or pull a fuse or something. But my 2 is running a whole lot better than it did, everything works good, but the high idle and low compression now. My motor rocks back and forth a little too. But nothing like it did. Smog is the issue right now, i live in Ca. and all i need for the visual is the OEM intake, or one with proper C.A.R.B. EO numbers. I have a couple in sight and am ordering asap. Im just leting you know my progress maybe it will help you too.
