single din to double din

hey guys, i have a 92 N/A with a single din tap deck, i want a double din cd player from one of the turbo models. i have found a few for sale but my question is what years, if any, will just slide into my car and work without changing anything like the wire harness. also i want to be sure that it would still power my factory sub. thanks.

Buy a generic but good brand double din player and an adapter harness. The factory double din is alright but there are cheap decks out there everywhere with a tonne of features that would be more of a real upgrade. I had a double din deck for a while the lack of mp3 (or anything for that matter) ability etc just landed up annoying me.

Get a double din Navigation system. They are really cheap now.
$500 with wiring harness.

I can't live without one now that I have it.

^ Ya that is what I installed it is over 9000 times better than just a cd player because it actually does something other than make noise. Mine was $400 NZ though

Not hard to find.

EssentialGears.Com: 91 - 95 TOYOTA MR2 2-COLOR GLOW GAUGES - 3919322

Nice white during the day, and cool blue at night, but the fuel gauge is hard to see at night tho.

i want his momo steering wheel.

anyways back to the OP. id do what everyone else has said.. theres no sense (IMO) to go threw the process (even tho its easy) to switch decks out when your only getting another OEM one.

im personally a big fan of the pioneer avh-4200dvd. it doesnt have nav and im fairly certain its last years model (big deal) but its got some cool honking features.. personal fav is you can upload your own pics to have as the background.... i dont have one yet but i have installed one... and fully intend to have it in my 2.

plus u can find it for about 400 ish

Thanks.

I lucked out on purchasing it.

This exact MOMO Millenium Evo was in the film "Fast and Furious 4" a movie released last year.

Apparently in one of the scenes in the custom shop, MOMO products are hanging behind the cash register.

When I logged onto the MOMO/USA website under 'specials' they were selling these as 'used', because they were movie props, and for some reason could not sell them as new. Among the items, they had two Millenium Evo's for sale.

I got mine for $155 with free shipping, and it was virtually new, wrapper, tag, box, warranty etc.

Nice weight, feels good.. leather.

Thanks ya i knew about them i was just wondering if i could get them to all match. That would be nice also. Its $150 for that. I live in Alberta so shipping would be a bit. I was just hoping there was one for turbos. Wait.. I have an idea. I could get a boos gauge and put it on the side pillar and anyway of setting up a battery meter for turbo's??

Buy an ashtray mount from EMS powered much cleaner than a pillar mount, I took my gauges off to ashtray mount them you don't really look at them anyway except if you are messing around or diagnosing/suspect overboost.

ya great idea! My ashtray is busted anyways.

Found some glow guages for turbo on proparts.

Procarparts.com

BUT! It has the security thing on it. I DON'T have stock alarm but i do have an aftermarket red blinker so i could put it in there.

Damn it! I compared them to MSAGRO's cluster and don't match.. Well tomorrow i will have to do more searching..

If anybody finds the ones that MSAGRO has for a TURBO and match i would like to know who has them or wat website! Thanks
