Hard top - T Top Swap ???

I hate to admit but my name is sam.. and i'm a newb..

Some insight would be nice... I have a hardtop 93 mr2.. and i want to switch it to a t top.. can somone if not everyone that reads this do me the favor and list Pros and Cons.. I have all the parts neccesary just curious to see what the public has to say..

I plan on making this a project car.. looks probably will come first then speed later.. thinkin of the 2nd gen swap that seems to be so popular..

Why not just buy another T-top MR2? Hardtops are a bit hard to find and I know one person on this board is looking for one 'cash in hand'.

Well my opinion is to keep it as a hardtop. If you have never done that sort of body work you will be getting way in over your head. Is the donor car a salvage?

I'm from the Bloomsburg area.

its not just a bolt on swap like your thinking. youll have to cut it. id say keep it as a hard top, or sell it and buy a ttop.

hardtops are more rare, and the money it'd cost to get it t-topped would outweight just buying a t-top, lol.

You are listed as about an hour and a half away from me on yahoo (the university is atleast). So if you wanna meet up one weekend I'll let you take my 2 around on a spirited drive to see if you really like the t-tops or not.

I don't care if you don't wear a hat You can do whatever you need to to see if you really want the t-tops.

Few questions about your car...
Color?
Manual or auto?
NA or turbo?
Any mods?

93 na, black, manual
Its got a veilside replica kit from the previous owner but the front bumper is a lil messed up but i wanted to change it anyways. K&N drop in filter and mufflers is all its got performance wise (gotta love pep boys mufflers ). Corbeau seats and some stereo stuff too. I plan on a swap at some point but am checkin out all the options.

Keep checkin the North East part of the forum for local events. I know Mister2.2 wants to get a meet going and I do too so yeah.
