Let's put it this way. You COULD do it your way, which is a LOT more work, most of it unnecessary.

OR, you could do it my way. I didn't respond with the purpose of bashing you, although that's how you read it. I responded for the purpose of saving other people a lot of wasted time and effort.

There are almost always multiple methods to achieve the goal, whatever it is. I'm sorry that you don't appreciate the simplicity of my method.

I applaud your efforts to fix your idle problem, even if I think that they are way ghetto. (At least you tried insted of just moaning like so many others do.) I do know however, that your TB and ISC issue can be fixed for cheap. BTW, you may have a bad output circuit in your ECU, or your ISC wiring, but you've yanked the ISC, so it's too late for that to be fixed.

Make your own thread on how to do it the right way if you disagree...

Mad props CyFi. It is good to see you find a way to DIY. I recommend it for a sticky. You did a great job with the details and the pics, making it an easy refrence regardless of how "wrong" someone says it is.

remove the center pin on the ISC valve, solder in a 10ohm 10watt resistor. remove the other 2 pins, and solder a wire into the top pin and run that wire to a switch. ground the other side of the switch.

turning the switch on and off will manually close your ISC valve.

and yeah.. its ghetto rigging it you should test all your components and find out whats failing, and replace it.. the TB itself isnt going to cause ISC problems.

do both ways work? yeah sure. is it wrong? YES. the car i did it on has a verified bad ECU, its a temp fix until we get an ecu for it. my car runs and idles great, but if something goes wrong like the coolant going low, it'll high idle and let me know i need to fix something. the resistor and switch trick works a little better, but i really dont recommend anyone does it unless its temporary or for testing only.. you can also test the isc by pulling the top and bottom pins and grounding them out and checking for idle raise and drop.

i agree.. theres not many people actually thinking anymore.. no offense, but its true. glad you thought it out and found a fix, but keep on tinkering and you'll find the correct fix
