jdm 1990 mr2 g-limited
hey, lets just say im kinda new to this forum cause i hardly come on. But i probably will start to come onto this forum often.
I'm thinking of importing a 1990 toyota mr2 g-limited, i love the looks of the second gen mr2 and thought i'd just start off something that i can learn to control off of instead of starting straight off a turbo one. Was wondering if anyone could tell me how much horsepower the N/A mr2 gives off? I had an 86 mr2 for a project car but i have no time for it no more so im gonna get this 1990 mr2 now. |

If you actually do have a way somehow to legally import and mr2, get it registered, and titled to drive in the us, I would go ahead and get a turbo model.
I guess I don't even know if you are in the US or not. |

It's perfectly legal to import a 15 year old or older MR2 to Canada (and some other countries) from Japan.
Welcome to the board Contact me, I've imported from Japan before ![]() I believe the first generation 3SGE (in the G-Limited) has 158hp or something. I may be wrong, someone should be able to confirm.

I'm pretty sure there's legislation preventing that, or there would be R32 Skylines EVERYWHERE here in Washington.
They're like Asians in Vancouver. You can hardly turn a corner without seeing one. |

Unless they were imported by Motorex and imported before Motorex got its importers license revoked, then they are illegal Skylines.
Importing to the US is a much larger hassel due to all the safety requirements we make old cars meet, even if the safety standards on those cars was lower. So Motorex was crash testing Skylines, and basicaly just tested an R33 I think, because it was the heaviest or something, and told the USDM that it tested all the Skylines, when it never did. Something along those lines. My friend managed to get an R33 in and get it licensed/registered, but his R32 didn't receive its registration until just a few months ago when some legal stuff was setled with Motorex. Basicaly though, as I said, unless it was imported by Motorex before the **** hit the fan, they're illegal. |
