It's almost time for a new clutch!!
Hi guys, I have a 94NA and planning to replace the clutch soon. Since it's a NA, I have no plan to mod it...but I want a better feel than OEM clutch. Any suggestions will be good. Thanks!

The SPEC and Clutchmasters clutches seem to be very well liked around here, with SPEC being the general board favorite.

the only thing you'll get with an uprated cluch is a sore leg. literally zero benefit. exedy is basically an oem clutch, but a little cheaper.

What about someone with a Gen3 that plans on getting up to around 300-330hp? My car is totaled, and I'm going to put the Gen3 in a different shell, but I think I'll do the clutch while it's out. The gen3 is stock now.

And to the OP, I wouldn't go with a racing clutch like the spec unless you put more power in the car. I doubt you'd like the feel of it if you were getting no benefit. Get the exedy.

yeah the exedy is soft.. but ive never had a problem with it slipping, even dumping it at 6K with UHP summer 225's.

The SPEC Stage 2 put in by the PO grips like a sonofabitch, and the pedal has a nice firm feel to it. Nothing too insane, but every other car I get in now I always end up sending the pedal through the floor.
There's probably no benefit to the PO having wasted a ton of money on the clutch, but hey, I like the way it feels. |
