Brakes

i hear this sound when i step on the brakes. i think its time to change my brake pads. what are some good ones out there?

I prefer the Axxis metal masters, one of my favorites and reasonably priced.

i think the ultimates are just an all over better pad than the metal masters. could also go porterfields, or EBC pads. the axxis ultimates/metal masters are kinda low end performance pads.. then again theres always the oem pads, which are fantastic and quiet.

if you needed new pads, you'd hear a sound until you stepped on the brakes. that'd be the wear-indicator.. you're just hearing standard brake noise. if you want to upgrade, sure go ahead, a good set of pads is always good, but you probably dont *need* pads just because you're hearing noise.

I <3 EBC Green stuff. SHARP initial bite, and minimum brake fade.

on the track i found a strong initial bite to result in braking thats hard to regulate.. its great on the street though.

I LOVE sharp initial bite on the track. It allows me to really push the corner to its limit, mantaining my speed until the last possible second, slamming on the brakes, releasing, diving into the apex, trailing out. Thats my style of breaking so it works great for me.

I personally use Porterfields, and I love them. They dust more than the stock pads, but their stopping ability is awsome.

If you're concerned about dust, get Axxis Organics, they brake decent. Better than whatever was on my car before, but they produce almost no dust. I drove 200 miles (city mostly), and ran my finger across the wheel... no dust on my finger. I couldn't believe it.

And hearing sound when you hit the brakes doesn't necessarily mean they are bad. What sort of sound are you hearing? If it's grinding, then yes, your pads are dead(and so are your rotors, probably). Pull your wheels off and check all your brakes out.

yes its grinding.... not alot. mostly likely it happends when i slow down to a stop light. i try to avoid the sound by down shifting and gently useing the breaks. i just want that noise to go away.

i just want something that is really good. i heard of project mu.... is that any good?
