Moving to Nor Cal
Well, the wife and I got our list of places that we can move too.
Since I want the northwest, there were only 3 places that we could move too. Spokane, Washington (hell no, too cold, too far away from the Beach), Medford, Oregon (i hate that city, too many damn hippies), and Eureka, California. so we said what the hell, why not. Were moving to Eureka, California. Unfortunately, i don't have a job to go too but i was expecting that. There is only 2 other place i could go where they had my job and 1 of them was in germany, and the other in north dakota (**** no). So, my wife is going to be the air force recuiter starting early next year in Eureka, California. I'll probably end up working at a gas station or something, or just being a bum. Probably hang out with Toms and Conor, drink a bunch of beer, do nothing. Course, it is humboldt county.......... ![]() I've driven through it years ago, and i remember it being a white trash town full of victorian homes. no worries i guess, i can become a redneck. Worried about my car though, usually those kinds of small towns have ****** roads. Might have to bag phoenix ![]() Anyone we know live in Eureka? Last edited by PHOENIX; 03-20-2008 at 08:59 PM. |

Before I leave, yes, i will be taking some orders, to include items that are too big to ship, that i can stick in my container.....for example, the uber rare 10th anniversary plastic sill trim so your stainless sill sets fit perfectly, and more importantly, without cutting up your old plastic sill plates that will look like crap.
I will be doing 1 last major group buy of everthing this summer. This is a one time only shot, then i officially close the store for good. - Dave |

Eureka? Dang, that's way up north. Whenever I see road signs for Eureka on the freeway, it's like 270 miles away. Anyway I have no idea what there is to do up there.

most of the roads up there are in strangely good shape.. lots of fresh paving, etc. a grand total of 4 people drive across them a year, so we decided those were the ones that needed immediate attention. i wouldnt worry *too* much. the bay area roads are the real killers.
eureka gets pretty damn cold though! |

yeah spokane and medford both suck. The only cool thin in my mind is that they have a real cool track their (Ie medford event) I've been through spokane a few time on my way to Idaho and it remind me alot of a one of our main drags only crappier. Why no Portland?

well, i grew up on the coast about 4 hours north in coos bay, so im used to the weather and atmosphere of the coast.
It is out there though, the biggest city is 2 hours away, which is redding. oh well, i can still make it fun. As far as portland, i think its roughly 6-7 hours away. However, my parents still live up there and so does my brother, so yes, i will be able to make it to that area probably once or twice quarterly. And yes, i am looking forward and spending some time with the workshop group ![]() |

![]() As for work, you might have luck using Indeed.com, it shows about 2000 jobs in eureka, ca right now. It searches all the other job sites so you only have to go to one site. |

You said you didn't want hippies but I hate to burst your bubble but Eureka and Humboldt county is the hippy capital of america it puts haight-ashbury to shame. I had a friend who moved out there to grow pot and get a 215 card as its practically legal up there so fire it up and have fun!!
