hostels are rediculous cheap.. everything else isnt. they freaking charge you for nasty tapwater at restaurants im most of europe! you'd need a few grand and a few weeks to enjoy it.

Yes, but those prices don't include the taxes and airport fees which is usually double. Thats how they do it here in Japan, they advertise to the states for $300-$400 dollars and when you go in to buy the ticket, they add another $400-$600 for fees, taxes, airport charges.
