dress better than them. Swag Swag Swag (I mean that, come in there and act like if they don't hire you, it is COMPLETELY their loss).
Research the company (or whatever) you are applying to. Know more than you should know. If they start thinking to themselves "how the fack does he know that" it is probably a good thing. be between ten and fifteen minutes early MAXIMUM! i know that sounds wierd, but if you are too early, then they have to figure out what to do with you for that period of time and **** gets awkward. |

Its Wac Arnold's. Just showing up guarantees the job. I know you need a job but trust me you will hate it.

think of questions to ask at the end of the interview. this shows you are interested in the job and not like "whatever".
but interviews are like commercials for you......try to sell yourself as the best person for the job, and like someone said before me, make them feel like if they dont hire you they will be at a loss. |

Wait for real? You need to come to NOVA and work at McD's here, I don't speak Spanish and they don't speak English so its hard when I want something like ketchup. I always end up getting an assortment of stuff. Now Chic-fil-a never gets my order wrong.

Wear a Taco Bell T-shirt and make sure while you wait you order some food and then complain about how crappy it is.

Thanks to those who are actually being helpful.
My mom is friends with a friend of the manager, so I'm pretty sure I'll get the job, but I'm still gonna have to try. |

Seriously, it's McDonalds, they hire those of unknown origin that can't speak English, and then they put them on the register and at the drive thru. This is a company not known for it's quality of hiring processes or in the people they hire (no offense).
The fact that you even started a thread asking for advice shows more motivation than I have ever seen in that establishment. |

Well, I'm in desperate need of a job. I owe my dad $800 from my MR2, someone is offering me a set of lowering springs with struts for $100, and I need to get an alarm for the 240, as well as a shift boot.

really its simple. you show up and be relaxed and friendly. its a customer service job so as long as you're good at talking to people you'll be fine. having questions for them is always a good idea. i like the 15 mins early one. if you're too early or to late you obviously have time management issues. i have worked retail for a bit and it will tire you out but i say go for the job, if they ask you plan on working there a bit, and when you get hired look for a better job. find something you want to choose. since you already got a job, you can filter through and pick what you want

Working at 15 is very good, just don't make it a career.
Tips: - take a copy of your resume - have a firm and non clammy/wet/limp handshake - have a valid reason why you want the job (don't say I just need a job, say you're saving for college) - know your strengths and weaknesses (you have cooked meat on a q I hope, and you have never worked in a fast food place as weakness) - don't use slang or swear (though the occasional f bomb does liven the interview up) - come across like you are a go getter, eager to learn, and maybe get more responsibility in the role if possible Don't sweat it, it's just McD's, just don't die and you should be ok. And fyi, I'm in recruitment so I'm trying to help here lol. |
