Crazy cool! First time I probably slow but the next time I would fly over it. There is no guarantee I would slow the first time either I might just drive around it at speed lol

its like the flwwed plan of using cardboard cut outs of police cars with speed cameras on the side of the road

it has been tried with in variuous countries with the same results

people eventually get sick of slowing down and then finding out they are fake so they start running them down, then people unintentionally run down and kill real police officers...phail

both ideas are trying to get drivers to slow down but they are both TOTALLY different.... dont see many cops dying from pothole cut outs...
the other idea... yeah=fail

the one starlet shows would make me slow down... definitely

In the fog if you suddenly see a big hole in the road it isn't all that unlikely that accidents from trying to avoid them could happen. There also may be cop just standing there checking out the paint markings for some reason

Ideas like this inevitably fail because they don't generate income like a camera and only cost maintenance. Speed cameras make money even though they are generally ineffective. Of coarse I'm the bad guy because a car with a loud exhaust doing 5kp/h more than the speedlimit is an immediate danger to the public

I can see that once people see they are fake, they would fly through every "pothole", until they hit a real one.

Am I the only one that see's the people who dont use their mirrors swerving to avoid it and hitting the car next to them?

What if your passing an elderly person, or an SUV in your MR2 and they dont see you as they wildly swerve to save their car from being eaten by a pothole...

thats just as much of a hazard, most people would swerve out of a lane or if they can't swerve than they may stop and holdup traffic or cause a pile up crash. So in essence that looks more like a prank by me in high school than the D.O.T doing their job.

Police are capable of just as much stupidity as the civilian. The problem is the cop's supervisor is an even worse class of idiot yet to be defined by science. Not a single decision made by anyone lieutenant and above is based on good logic because they are so far removed from the field that they don't know what the real world is like anymore.
