Capitalism: A Love Story

Great movie, me and the wife went to go see it tonight. Really brings to light what Capitalism really is, not what is perceived by the news and what we've been lead to believe. Very moving movie overall. 10 out of 10 if you ask me. Gonna have to watch it again.

Capitalism, socialism, communism, etc, are all the same bull**** in different forms. As long as our society is run by a government, we'll always have nothing but problems.

I've only seen one of his flims (never knew who he was till that film), bowling for cloumbine, but then again I only saw about 45mins of it. And I said to myself: "ah..he's that kind of guy."

That said I'm not going to see that film. Hes not going to get my money.

I personally didn't go to see the movie because I have a love interest in Michael Moore. I went to see his take on Capitalism.

But I get your point. It's nice to see some mature adults post their opinion instead of some insane roid rant guy.

oh no.... Im an insane roid rant guy. Im sorry that capitalism has its downsides. But its a hell of a lot better than the alternatives. That is of course unless you're lazy and think you are entitled to everything. In that case, socialism is for you. Let the Government control every aspect of your life, and decide how much money you need. At least that way you dont have to work too hard to survive. Hell, you dont need to work at all to survive. Our country is turning into one big pile of ****... and no it didnt start with Obama, and no it wasnt just the libs..... all of them are to blame, and the American people are to blame for allowing it to happen. Micheal Moore is a whiny dip****. He has the nerve to bitch about capitalism when without it he would have nothing. He's always bitching about the country he lives in, well I dare him to go bitch about his government somewhere else. I'm sure he would last long in Iran with his videos.

That's a pretty arrogant and ignorant statement.

Capitalism, communism, and socialism, as we've seen them implemented, are all horribly flawed systems- different sides of the same screwed up coin. None of them work, because all of them are based on flawed, antiquated concepts of power, control, and scarcity. We have the resources and technology right now to automate virtually every job, and make everything we need in society completely free. We'd have to redesign our infrastructure and underlying social makeup, but we're going to have to do something soon anyway, because capitalism is imploding. More and more people are fighting over less and less jobs for less and less pay, and there are no new industries being created to fill the gap. We are at a major turning point in our society, and the old ways of doing things are going to lead to disaster.

Yes, but they are all great in the respected Countries who implement them. Doesn't that make them great?

That doesn't really matter. It helps people, maybe not all. So that's just a small flaw.

I think it's time you pack your bags and leave. You sound like a socialist. There is nothing greater than the US Constitution. It's flawless.

**sarcasm**

Manufacturing one day, will inevitably die in this Country. Ever year more and more jobs in that field disappear with no return or major growth in another industry. One day the peak of your career will be to either be 250k in debt with college loans with no guarantee at landing a decent job; because there are sooooo many people in this Country doing the same thing with no major field growth in ANY industry. Or you can just shot your app to Walmart or McDonald's, live on your food stamps and 8.75 an hour. Because as of right now, Even though I live in probably the smallest town in this state, there is a Walmart and Mcdonalds within 15 minutes of my house no matter what direction I go.

So I lied. There is a field that has continuing growth. Every day low prices and high insurance premiums.

You are totally 100% correct with that entire statement.

Shimric, does Michael Moore make any point like this in his movie, or is the movie all about bashing an antiquated system. In my opinion, if he's not offering up any solutions, then he's merely doing it for $$. But if he offers up some valid opinion and options then I may very well see this.

It's a typical Michael Moore film. One sided. But it has good points to that one side.

The only solution he offered is to stand up against the crazy global elites.

Someone better read my previous post! You know how many times I had to facking quote Raptor!

I don't think he thinks he's doing it for the money. He's doing it because he wants to influence change, and money to him is merely a means to do that. I also think he wants to make a name for himself, to be popular and well-remembered for doing the right thing when nobody else would.

That said, I doubt he's gonna change much. I'll see the film when it comes out on bittorrent, and make my judgment then. I've actually never seen a Michael Moore film- I've only seen him in interviews and whatnot, so I can't pass judgment on him one way or the other.

Seriously I cant wait to go see it tonight. I saw the previews and it looks funny. I do not understand why people get so offensive when you say you like something? Like a movie, its not like were saying "Yea you have to like it and go see it or you will die" its just an opinion and sharing thoughts about it to people that may want to see it or have an interest. So I say if all you have to say are bad things and you cant shut up about how you hate every thing or it just makes you feel better about your self in some weird way, than you should go find some island population zero and shoot yourself in the head. Your the kinda person that brings every one down and you think life revolves around you but if took a second to stop look and listen you would find that know one cares about you and your only annoying every one.
Any way cant wait to see the movie LOL

Michael Moore's movies have all been a load of trash and I'm fairly confident that this one isn't going to break from the trend. Free Market Capitalism is the only moral and viable economic system in existence.

What Michael Moore is probably railing against is "Chrony Capitalism" - when big business gets in bed with big government and the American people suffer. That's been going on for quite some time but the ironic thing is that Chrony Capitalism isn't Free Market Capitalism at all; it's Central Governmnet Control: Soft Facism / Socialism

The idiotic thing about people who attack "capitalism per se" instead of capitalism as manifest in the US is that their argument is actually attacking the the implemantation of the concept they are infering should take capitalism's place.
