Wait, the license plate says SR20 510...does it have an SR20 in it or something? Can you even do that in F3? I've never played it, I wouldn't know.

Yep!

You can also RB26 swap it and make it AWD. No idea how the logistics of that work, but you can do it. The problem is, even with a stock SR20 the 510 still has traction issues, and I put a full race exhaust and intercooler on it because I figured you'd have to custom-build those yourself if you did the swap IRL.

Negative.

I could just imagine what it would say... lol... in Forza 2 they gave the engine codes, in Forza 3, to help the people who have no idea what the **** engine codes mean, they have labeled them by what car they came in... Which is kinda gay... but I can get past it...

So for the MR2, it would say: "Would you like to swap the V6 out of a TOYOTA CAMRY into your MR2?"

rofl

I'm not saying that it's not an awesome swap... I'm saying I don't think the rest of the car community would get it, and would probably laugh at us. I think they already do that though.

Oh well. I'll probably still pick the game up sometime next month... After MW2 of course.

WTF! I havent gotten into engine swapping yet, but wtf!

I notice they have the like....generic upgrade option for noobs too, so you dont have to go search out what you want to upgrade. I did it once, and have no idea what happened to the car (although it was faster).

I have been upgrading my cars manually ever since.....

Is this a really fun game Gary? I have a PS3 but I have a feeling that GT5 wont really be a FUN game and will be more about the graphics than anything.

This game is an outrageous amount of fun. I just built an FD that can hit 256.9, which is way faster than the Veyron, which needs a racetrack the size of mars to reach its supposed top speed.

I also have a ridiculous Saleen F150 supercharged with 800 HP that weighs 5,500 lbs and I mainly use it to just nail AI players in certain races that I feel are boring. It's awesome.

I'm having a blast with it, and I don't see why if you're a racing sim enthusiast, you wouldn't either.

I haven't been able to play it with a wheel... but it "feels" pretty good with the controller. Hard to explain, but you'll just have to play it for yourself.

this game makes me cream my pants a little....

something about the General Lee sliding sideways in the Porsche Corners at Circuit De La Sarthe...makes me wish there was a 24hour LeMans with classic cars

Well, there are a lot of LeMans cars, and Circuit de la Sarth (classic and with chicanes) not sure but I'm willing to be there will be online tournaments on xbox live for 24 hour classed endurance races.

And you can drive the Charger... and make it look like the General Lee... and you could probably race it (against everyone else's better judgment) in a Le Mans race.

lol ya the marketplace thing is awsome! I bought someone's file that makes it look JUST LIKE the General Lee (can't believe how much detail they put into it).

I know that Turn 10 wanted to have a 24hour LeMans tourney around the time of LeMans....that might be cool if they had separate classes to run as well (muscle cars, or 80s cars or something?)

Well, rumors are circulating that MS is gonna move the XBOX 360 to a 45nm single chip solution (CPU/GPU on the same die). The PS3 Slim is currently running an updated 45nm solution. AFAIK, the current 360 is still using a 65nm die for both the CPU and GPU, so they still require a bit of voltage (read: heat) to run.

It'll likely be the last hardware update for the 360, and it should increase the reliability of the system by reducing the voltage loads and heat the system produces. It can also theoretically increase performance between the CPU/GPU as they'll be on the same die.

I'm gonna wait for that update, which is rumored for 2010. Though I really wish they'd make consoles with upgradable memory like PCs, which can give developers the freedom to add larger, more realistic textures, greater view distances, and reduced load times on systems with the extra memory. But I guess it's cheaper to have one specification to work with.

Only PCs can run games in native 1080p or higher. Most 360/PS3 games are like 576p or maybe a little higher natively, and then are upscaled to an "HD" resolution like 720p or 1080p. I think that's disappointing, but the games are looking quite good. They just look better on PCs.
