I saw this one Fiero owner, and he had a baby's arm growing out of his head. He looked like a shoe-in for the cast of "The Hills have Eyes" movie.

But seriously, imagine a giant road race on a huge long track. K? Alright take 25 Mr2 MkI's and 25 Fiero's, picked randomly. Some of both types wouldn't finish the race, some would be tight and modded, some would be stock. I think you can see what I'm getting at. The MR2's would be in front of the pack.

We're still arguing what a base platform is worth more.. yes, we've conceded stock v stock fiero doesn't hold up to the mr2.. a scenario like you're talking about, it would be more mixxed than just being able to say that mr2's would be in front of the pack.. I'm willing to admit my ignorance of the current power levels of each, but I'm of the mindset that once you start building a car, its potential is only proportional to your wallet. Handling issues you say? Custom fab a c5 into running coilovers, instead of leaf springs. Problem solved, (a shop over in Livermore has 2 converted c5's) Not enough power in the engine? swap a v8 into it.. (which we haven't done yet) These are just examples. I'm proud of my car, but at the same time going around half cocked doesn't sit well with me. Give and receive respect, and then beat it out of them if you can't get what you deserve.

hey folks i'll be getting the video some time soon, my friend is getting his pay check and is buying a 1gig mini sd chip so it will be soon.

a little off topic, I have to give it to ford, those mustangs kick ***. for the first year and a half i had my 72 340 dodge dart i kept getting smoked by the same damn 5.0 with a vortech, and i'm not saying i just got beat by 2 or 3 car links i got completely dusted. hes that guy in fremont, mostly in irvington district that has that all black mustang with the red light going down on the inside.

the thing about the fieros n all was just a thing i'd wanted to post, some of you guy are with it but most of you guy aren't.

just today i saw an old friend of mine driving a fiero gt of later make and i wanted to race him, he said okay. i told him i had this post going and people where kinda torn between the 2 cars. so we are getting ready to race on warmsprings blvd over where we live. lets just say I didn't know he had put a northstar v8 in his ****. when i left the light i knew something was up cause i could hear his car, then it passed me, then it smoked me, but then it started to smoke. he busted his car, we think it his head gasket. he said the motor runs hot when he races, the v8 in the back dosen't get cool enough he said and this is quoting a fiero guy, so gimmie a break you winy *****es.

I don't realy hate the owners of these cars, I just think they havent seen the light yet. even those damn v8s blow up too. toyota makes better motors than pontiac, i've never seen a fiero with more than 100,000 mile on it that didn't have huge problems, but i see mr2 85 with 300,000 and the owner says all they do is oil and belts and its fine and the mr2 will still smoke the fiero with 100,000 miles on it.

mann what is it with hp? lol......mustang this mustang that....it has 400 hp!! even if it has 500 hp.....it still a piece of **** made from kia lol.....what im saying is anyone can customize their car to watever hp lol......what dont u understand from that? i know everytime u guys hear that a car is 400 hp or 900 hp u think that car is the best in the world... lol no...thats not true. ford cars will always be ford its a piece of shiit made of lawn mower engines lol.....just like what oh snapps said...mr2 will run excellent at 300k miles lol. and ford will run fast for 1 second and dat shiit will be dead the next day lol..its a piece of shiit........no 1 likes ford cars or pontiac i mean they are the same lol. anyone agree?

So now in two days, you've raced two Fieros, and both have died? Thats gotta be some record... You say that we're not with you? It's because you haven't given us any evidence to back up any of your claims. We've yet to see any pics of a Fiero on fire, or a dyno sheet. After we start talking about people who swap V8s into Fieros all the sudden you find one who's a "buddy" of yours and you race him, and it blows up, only after he passes your "230hp" SC MR2? I could go on for a while... The reason we're not with you is because this thread smells like it's so full of BS that it could fertilize a couple hundred acres. What ever happened to the dyno sheets of your car? As much as I enjoyed your story, it just seems to be that, a story...

All i have to say to you man is you are ignorant. If mustangs sucked so much, why would they still be in production after 40+ yrs? I have an 87 MR2, and its my baby, but to own a piece of history like an older mustang is sweet. I dont care what your runnin, if you came up on a Shelby GT500, or even a GT, im sure he would smoke your *** so fast, you would be wondering what the hell you where thinkin in the first place. Our MK1's wherent built for Speed, as this is a lotus trademark, we may outhandle the older muscle, but on a drag strip, THEY would stomp us. Besides, like i said mustangs are classics, and no matter what new technology we make to compete with the V8's, nothing beats a classic.

I am with you on this one. It all sounds really fishy. Wow two fieros with blown motors. Man that sure is weired my friends Fiero has 120,000 miles on it and runs like a champ Yeah he rebuilt the motor about 20,00 miles ago but that's just becasue he wanted to make it faster. He has a V-6 with a turbo on it and puts down 350 WHP that thing like a bullet. Custom intake manifold.

Good grief, this thread reeks of adolescence.

Most of you guys bashing Fieros are just as bad as the Fiero guys who bash on MR2s.

As for the "it's still just a Pontiac/Kia/Ford/whatever" argument.. you can say that for Toyota, too. After all, Toyota just builds economy cars, right? The MR2 is just a poor man's car for kids who can't afford a real mid/rear engined car like a Porsche or Ferrari, right? Sheesh.. get over yourselves.

Finally.. 200+whp on an SC12'd 4AGZE? Let's see the dyno graph of that bad boy! And then tell us how you did it. I've seen/driven a couple SCs that run 12-14psi on the SC12 and neither of them were 200whp cars.

Another caveat: I like that this board isn't censored like MR2OC, but threads like this certainly lend credibility to the censorship policy there.

I don't see anything wrong with bashing Fieros, they are JUNK. The quality is PISS POOR. Any way you look at it they are poorly thought out pieces of crap IMO.

Sure the MR2 could be said to be a poor mans Ferrari, nothing wrong with that. If I owned a Ferrari I'm sure I would agree that it makes the MR2 look like junk. Comparing the MR2 to the Fiero is a joke.
