Im stupid i know, you dont have to tell me.
Ok well i was out having fun on this back road, driving responsibly, resisting the urge to push the car, but then i came to the largest straitaway... so i sped up and get to like 100 and then slowed down. Sure, stupid, but how wwould you feel on a lonely back road striat away with no cops for miles. So that was done for, but there was this little construction area in which there was gravel curving around from the road like a detour, and for some reason i thought, hey, it would be fun if i punched it. why, dont ask, maybe because im stupid like i previously stated, but i did it, and the car went sideways basically as expected, i was able to correct it fairly nicely, but because it was gravel the car just swayed and slid the opposite way, so i had to correct again, and again, and then hit actual pavement and it grabbed. Just wanted to share, and dont bother calling me rice or stupid because i admit it was stupid, and thats the first step right? i actually enjoyed the experience.

Haha, I wish. I belive I am a very good driver (for my age). While I still have a lot of learning and shiz to do, I think I have learned very quickly. My mistake was takin a 90* downhill turn at 60+ and lettin off the gas half way through. If I had kept on the gas, it woulda made it perrrrrrfectly ![]() |

Poor MR2s...
All of you new to your cars (less than a year of owning/driving): Go learn to drive at an autocross.. You'll find your car's limits and your own limits and be much safer and less likely to end up in a situation where your car is wrecked or you're going "wow, am I stupid!" Learning by spinning out on public roads.. bleh.. C'mon fellas, let's be smart, eh? ![]() |

Ive had worse happen, once I snapoversteered across 4 and a half lanes of traphic doing 40mph. I boosted in the wet in 3rd on bald tires. I came to a stop and luckily didnt total the car or damage anything, but definitly the closest I ever came to totaling it. |

How hard was it to install??Anyway, back to the stupid person... I have done MUCH stupider things than all of what I have heard, except for boosting on bald tires on wet pavement, thats just silly, lol. Hows this for stupid: Me in my fathers car, 2000 VW Passat, 2.8l V6, 5 spd. Very quick car, handled well too. My buddy in his 1990 Shelby Daytona, 2.2l Turbo, automatic. Very quick car, also handled quite well. Us on 590 in Rochester NY doing about 140 mph through traffic at 7 pm on a saturday. Now thats stupid. FYI: Passats get VERY unstable around 120 mph in corners, in a straight line I have never driven a more stable car to 140, smooth, responsive, and still accelorating in 5th gear at 140. |
