What's a turbohoses spearco intercooler kit worth?
So what is the going price on a great condition, used turbohoses spearco intercooler kit these days?
It looks like it's still $1390 on their site: MR2 Turbo I have everything in the kit including all original couplers, worm drive clamps, t-bolt clamps, pipes, fan shroud, intercooler mounting plate, intercooler and Spal fan, etc. It's probably been on the car for 8-9k miles or so, no damage to he core or any pipes. What can i expect to get out of it now if i decide to remove it from my car and sell? Thanks! -Jimmy |

The kit is no longer available since Spearco will no longer fabricate the core with custom 3" inlet/outlet end tanks. As far as performance, I've yet to see a sidemount handle as many dyno pulls before heatsoaking as the Turbohoses core. The Greddy/Berk units are heatsoaked after two good 4th gear dyno pulls at 350rwhp. With the Turbohoses setup on my car, I've never seen it heatsoak even at the end of a long dyno session. I don't think that we will ever see any more innovation in the MR2 side mount market. The cheap cores have taken over even if they don't perform as well simply because even the best of the side mounts are limited to 400rwhp. |

IMHO, a good condition TH kit should go for upwards of $800-900...But there aren't many, IF anyone that will be willing to pay that amount with the advent of the replica cores. |

Perhaps I am confused.
I don't think I have 3" inlets. I have black piping with orange turbonetics couplers. Is this the turbohoses kit? I know its a Spearco core. Edit; just did some searching, I don't have a turbohoses kit, I have the turbonetics kit. Its **** from a dog's ass as far as fitment goes. Last edited by butter nuts; 11-15-2007 at 08:52 PM.. |

What make a Berk out perform a Turbohoses Core? And, by what percent?

I don't believe that a berk will ever outperform the turbohoses spearco. Well, not with the intercooler they have right now.

Has anyone ever objectively evaluated the Intercoolers.
Why and how exactly is this one better than OEM. What is the bench mark? What are the advantages over OEM? OEM has a lot of history and is very dependable on WHP up to 250. Herb |
