Yep, they're as expensive as hell, but not many people will actually pay that for a set when you can buy some nice covers that are very close to OEM for way less than that.
I'd be interested in buying a set, but not for even half of retail. |

Geez, I guess that threw your $400ish out the door! I picked up some brand new OEM cloth ones for $80. I'd rather ride around on a bucket than pay $1800 for some new leather. And that's not counting the headrests....wooooweeee!

I'll pay good money for brand new OEM covers in factory Part Numbered bags. More than most people would pay probably. but for $1800 I'll just buy them at a dealer for dead cost.

i work at a dealer in texas. i checked and most of the seat covers are discontinued. we have one black set in the country minus the drivers bottom cover. so a total of 3 parts. i just got those 3 and im waiting to see if japan will ship me the drivers bottom or say sorry its discontinued. if they ship it i will buy the set if not ill sell the ones i have. ive never seen brand new factory mr2 seat covers but can tell you they are oh so nice. im trying to post pics but cant seem to find the camera.

Problem with Toyota retail is its ok for some stuff to base but not for others....
For example. Anyone ever looked at retail for a CT26? They want like 2100 dollars for the stupid thing. No way in hell is it worth that. So you cant base Retail off everything. I wouldnt pay more than the price of a nice set of leatherseats.com genuine leather covers. The OEM ones look nice, but theyre inherently failure prone. They will eventually crack, they will wear out, no matter how good you take care of them. |

I'd pay at least up to leatherseats.com $~600 for new OEM tan leather seat covers.. ANything much more than that you can get better than Leatherseats.com or OEM from an upolstry shop.
Just an opinion.. but those are indeed very nice. |
