Price check: Rear wheel bearings for N/A 93 MR2 w/ 3s-ge

Stealership was coughing high. What would you recommend to replace for my 3s?

Also, dealership told me I'm missing the "fit kit" on the driver side rear, which is why I'm getting this squeking / rubbing sound. Any ideas?

I just replaced both of mine in the rear. They cost me about $75 a piece, plus $28 for the machine shop to take them out and put the new ones in. I only buy Genuine Toyota parts if not upgrading to aftermarket. I think Aaron at Lithia may be able to get you a better price but I needed mine done ASAP.

Good advice,

My dad showed me how to get out old bearings using the bolt that holds the wheel in place.

Thanks for the info!

How about the "fit kit", do you know what they are talking about?

The only thing I could think of is there is a snap ring that holds the bearing in and a dust cover that goes over that. Other than that there are no other parts that relate to the bearing. I unbolted my whole hub and just took everything to the machine shop.

Okay I've found the part number for the bearings 90369-43008. Just need to get cost.

The fit kit is part number 04948-17030. I'm not sure how it works and why I have one on the passenger side and the not on the driver side.

My BGB (SA-41 for 93+) is showing a Inner Race (inside) and Inner race (outside). Did yours have these races?

hmm, I have a 91 so I'm not 100% sure that they are exactly the same. What I did was unbolt the strut(2 bolts), unbolt one rear control arm, and unbolt the hub from the bottom ball joint(2 bolts). Plus just unbolted the whole brake caliper bracket from the hub and undo the axle nut. From there all I had on mine was the one snap ring, and like a dust cover over that. The bearing only comes out and goes in from the inside of the hub. So I'm not sure if yours could have a couple extra parts or not, since yours is a 93 with slightly different suspension comapred to my 91-92 style.
