Mother's Powerball Mini
I picked up the powerball mini for $25 at checker auto. It has a moneyback guarantee so I figure what the hell. First impression is that it's still too big, it worked well for polishing the heat shields on the firewall as it does include a 10" extension, but the thing is too big for around most places in the engine bay. It did do a pretty decent job polishing aluminum, but where it really shined were my tail lights. After washing the power ball with dish soap, i went back to the garage and tried it on my faded tail lights with meguiers plast-x. WOW did it shine them up good, much better than just using plast-x by hand. Over all I would say it's a good item for polishing stuff once they are out of the car. which is kind of a let down seeing how it's marketed to be able to fit into small spaces. I gonna keep though for it's tail light shining abilities if nothing else.

I was wondering myself how well they worked. You use this with an electric drill?

ya we use this on cars at the shop also. it does pretty decent buffing waterspots out of alloy wheels (stupid toyota/ford dealer we work with puts cars under sprinklers, luckily not Toyotas
)This and meguiars mirror glaze metal polish worked great. Also, try using a red pad and meguiars swirl free polish to clean up taillights/headlights. |
