I personally own this downpipe, and have it installed on my car. The reason that I like this downpipe over some of the others, is because it has a ceramic heat coating on it. And it comes with the support bracket. I would recommend this product.

My question would be why is it only a 2.5 inch diameter when they have a 3 inch KO setup? Shouldn't they have a 3 inch downpipe also?

The exhaust gases start at the manifold. If thats small/or not equal length that gets affected a bit there...

Next would be the downpipe. If its getting bottled from a 2.5 then into a 3 inch its still getting choked uped a bit before going intot he 3 inch exhaust....

I wish they made a straight 3 inch to complement their 3 inch exhaust which I'm going to buy...

they had the 2.5" exhaust for a long time...the 3" is newer. Also, the 2.5 mates up to the stock exhaust better...and in my case, my blitz nur spec which starts at 2.5" or 2.75" w/e it is, it works nice. the exhaust turbine side w/e it is, is only 2.4" so anythin gover 2.5" is just extra big i guess you could say, 2.5 isnt creating a bottlenec, especially on a ct20b which really cant make more tha 300whp which is the power level where they found a 3" made more power. i have teh ko dp and it kicks ass, def reccomended

Well I was looking for more than 300whp and using a GT Series turbo either 30R/35R/40R...

It'd just be nice to have 3inches from the downpipe to the exhaust...

ya then why are you even slightly thinking about a ko 2.5" downpipe? it wont even bolt onto your turbo...downpipes arent universal. the ko 2.5" dp works perfectly for what it was made for...ct26, ct20b, ct27

Thats exactly what I was thinking! I dont think 2.5" should be too much of a restriction on most CTXX turbos.

I already knew that I was reffering that they SHOULD have a 3inch to complement the 3 inch exhaust........

I wasn't saying i was looking at it....I was saying that they should make a 3 inch....

Taken from the KO web site

"The use of 2.5" pipe and large radius bends eliminates the losses in flow seen in larger pipe. This results in a quicker spoolup on your turbocharger and more power."

Hope this helps!

But back to their customer service, I had an excellent experience with them. Shipping was prompt and when I had to call with questions they were more than willing to help me out. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a downpipe for their ct26, ct27, or ct20b.

I have a number of KO products from the Turbo through downpipe and exhaust. Their customer service is top notch. Chris is exceptional in dealing with customers and resolving issues.

what ru talking about? u say u think they should ahve made it 3" so that it will fit a gt series turbo that you want, and then you go to say that you didnt say it...

it would be nearly pointless for them to make a 3" downpipe because it would give NO advantage over their 2.5" (even w/a 3" exhaust). they could only make it for the ct series turbos (which dont need anything largert than 2.5") in mass production like their 2.5" downpipes. not sure what u have in mind here...

ko dp kicks ass for ct26 and ct20b and ct27!! i <3 mine lol not really but seriously

How does it compare after the stock cat is removed and the ko downpipe is added in it's place? To me that's an important result.

I've had the down pipe and exhaust set up for a couple years now. The customer service was great, someone was always there to answer a question (mainly when they were coming in because of back order) they never sounded aggravated when I called. The build quality was great too. I'd definately recommend them.
