Track Day at Infineon *video*
Here's a video of my last run at Infineon on Sunday. This was Group 2, so passing was only allowed in the straights. The reason it was my last run is because one of my coolant hoses burst
You can hear it around 9 minutes into it. I had overheating problems all day, most likely head gasket related, so I wasn't able to push my car very hard. Unfortunately I had to let a Camaro get away because of it. This was my first time at this track, so I was still experimenting with the line and shifting points. I was trying out some new tires, Azenis RT-615. 215/45/16 front, 255/40/17 back. These things STUCK like no other street tire I've driven on. They were considerably heavier than my old Toyo T1-R, and I could feel it in the steering wheel and under braking, but they had awesome grip. Anyway, enjoy. Hope the link works. I'll put it on YouTube tomorrow, as well as my first run, which I haven't uploaded yet.Oh by the way... a lot of duct tape on the hose in the engine bay, and I was able to limp to a Kragen with the radiator cap off, refilling with water every 2 or 3 miles. Then Kragen came through with a replacement hose that got me home just fine. NASA HPDE at Infineon Mods: CT-27, ~12 psi, stock IC, 2.5" DP and 3" exhaust |

Actually, I wasn't running with an instructor. That was the g/f in the passenger seat
My goal for next time is just to not have mechanical issues, so I can actually keep my right foot planted. |

You were running in HPDE 2 with no instructor contact and a passenger? Wowo.
Most regions won't let you take a passenger until 3 or 4 and in HPDE 2 you should still have pretty consistent contact with an instructor. Looks awesome man! I'm Jealous. Infineon is on the list of tracks I want to drive before I die What's your camera rig? What camera and how do you have it mounted? I'm having trouble with mine shaking the camera so hard that the picturew ends up degrading.

Another run that day:
I'm using a basic Sony miniDV camera (DCR-HC38) with a 0.6X wide angle lens, on an I/O Port roll cage mount. I don't have a cage, so I kind of ghetto mounted it to a piece of 1.5" ABS pipe, and strapped that to the firewall where the CD tray console thing normally mounts to. It was good enough for now. And yep, NASA norCal allows passengers in group 2, although we run in the same group as the group 1 guys. |

Glad you guys liked the videos. I'll try to get some more soon. I think I need to work on the headgasket to fix my overheating problem.
