Oh noes!
I can't see those first 3 pics at work. So what happened? Did you bump him from behind after you guys both passed that Miata? Then he later spun and you hit his door? Is he claiming you're responsible for making him spin? Cool vid though ![]() |

nah it was just telling the whole story - he didn't slow enough for the corner and lost it fighting it back towards the track too soon... fully blames himself.
the pics are of my damage - dented and bent the front of the fender, pushed in part of the bumper. Not bad for punching in a door hard enough to tweak the cage behind it. moral of the story - be more calm when you go off and keep your eyes up - if he had done that he would've seen how much space he had to get the car slowed and under control before there was really a wall ahead. moral of the story for me - don't expect the correct decisions from everyone everytime. I should've backed off a bit more than I did, would've been a single car crash if so. Ah well, thats racing and why you race stuff that is cheap for you ![]() |

Yea, that's what it looked like from the vid, he was in too much of a hurry to bring it back on the track. He had lots of room to ride out the rough stuff before turning back onto the track. Oh well, good for you the damage wasn't too bad.

You got that car from Nocturnal right? I saw it when he had it in his big shop, cool car. It's an original Tropical blue 94, ultra rare. Are you going to keep it Tropical blue and just get rid of the flames or change the color? Glad to see it back on the track! Don't think it would be worth converting back to a street car.

yup - thats the car, its kinda (in)famous apparently, heh.
I want to bring it back to the original tropical blue - will prob be dropping it off at the rollcage / race car shop place I use in Houston after this weekend's race, the bumper supports are tweaked over to the side a tad and need pulled so its more than simply swapping out panels/parts but when its back it'll get some professionally done numbering/lettering and finally be presentable ![]() |

I knew when I watched the previous Allet video from the in-car that this was my old MR2. It still has the duct tape glue on the dash where I tried to cover the airbag hole.
The car has been around. When I saw it for sale again many months back I wanted to buy it but the timing did not work out. Do you know the car history? Here is the best I know it if you care. Car was a Toyota Exec car. Car purchased (maybe salvage title) by Lynne Griffiths a long time SCCA Showroom Stock racer from CA. Sold after the 1997 Runoffs by Michael Sullivan of Center Harbor, NH. Sold in 1999 to me, Steve Fondakowski then in Chelmsford, MA now of Pelham, NH Sold in 2001 to Jim Boerke from Ohio. I sold it with TRD springs and bars and a bunch of other goodies. Sold sometime after that to the person you bought it from I guess. Interior is now gutted? When I bought the car it was far from SCCA legal. The engine had been blueprinted and many other tweaks. It was pretty fast. Still looks fast. Here is a pic from Pocono in 99 or 2000. I have many others if you are interested. Racing Photos Page |

alot of the history stuff was in the original logbooks
good to see I'm not the first one to whack it though it was kinda obvious this thing has had some bodywork... but thats expected with a car that's been raced wheel-to-wheel for the better part of 12 years. I bought it from Bryan Hill (board admin/owner? here) and I think he at most just did track day stuff with it. I'd have to look but I don't think anyone raced it after you, or if they did I don't have the logbook(s).Interesting on the engine stuff, it didn't dyno very high compared to my '91 street car which I know is fine. Granted I did find a clogged cat 2 races ago (leaded gas by a previous owner maybe?), so I might want to redo it, but it still doesn't feel as powerful as my '91 street car after that fix but it is closer. I think if I drag raced them the only way the '94 would win is by weight, its about 75lbs lighter plan is to build towards SCCA ITA and also run with NASA in PTE - I can pick & choose my mods with NASA so it won't be hard to build a car that does well in both with minor (as in change out ballast amounts at most) if any changes It'll be going to NASA Nationals at Miller in Sept, so keep an eye out for updates there. If money holds out it'll get most of the ITA prep this off-season.. we don't really have winter in Houston ![]() |

If I were you, I would sell those 94 tails, and by a cheap set of 91-93 tails, to fund some other things.

a hundred or two won't make a material difference in the offseason modification budget anyway. Getting the Koni/coilover setup fabricated alone is slated to run about $2500 |

yes indeed.
My offseason was pricey. New brake pads, new control arms, ARP lug studs, wheel spacers, alignment, rebuild air dam, make air dam removable, etc. Some days I think buying an NA and swapping it all back to a street car wouldn't be a bad idea...wait that's a lot more work AND i wouldn't be able to race it. Looks like you were having FUN! |

fixed
![]() faster you go = more it costs the closer to the top you want to be = more it costs I'm hoping to be under budget, but... we'll see if I didn't want to also prepare for that faster SCCA class I could just stick with my current NASA class and not have to spend anything outside of operating costs... ah well. |
