Nice vid, but that driver is woeful. I don't even know how many seconds he lost by bouncing off the revlimiter, not knowing how to heel-toe, taking forever to shift, and using the wrong gear at times.

There's a good reason he was back of the pack and losing position. Not the point though.

Could you imagine going out to a racetrack somewhere and gridding up with 20+ MR2s for a shootout?

in my second year of racing....
this is my first ever attempt at Pembery.

yes my car is stock....we cannot run anything else....but I dont intend on hanging around, the guy infront has 13 years race experience and the white mk1 at the start was a race ARDS instructor, the green car has a SILVERSTONE race instructor driving it

yes that first race you guys have viewed at Brands was crap as you say but I had no 4th gear and was loosing 3rd.

23 mr2`s on a grid.............it`s excellent fun!!!!!!!

Excellent - and welcome aboard. Forgive us "armchair generals" as it's easy to pick things apart when you can sit back and watch the vid - repeatedly.

I can tell you that in the heat of the moment I've bounced rev limiters, overcoocked corner entries, botched an occasional shift, screwed up rev-matching on my downshifts and a host of other minor errors.

The bright spot was that I was actually having fun on a race track chasing down other cars while making those mistakes, lol. Keep the vids coming!

Must have been frusterating as all get out to have your tranny giving you hell like that. Did you get it sorted or did you have to swap it?

I love how you put the second rear view mirror in so the camera can see behind.

the gearbox was changed swiftly after Brands Hatch, I wasn`t going to mangle the clutch.

Bad news I cannot post any videos on this forum only the Pembrey circuit because I am required to sign a publication waver, Pembrey are not owned by J.P so this is`nt an issue there.

The sanctioning body you run with allows this? I run with NASA in the US and if the drivers aren't fully kitted with safety gear we black flag 'em. They even have to have fire resistant underwear which is spot checked on the grid.

no gloves not in regs it is up to the driver but if you wear them they must be FIA spec (go figure).
