![]() This ecu has a built in map sensor so all you need to get is a Intake Air Temp sensor to make sure the ecu can read that. ITBS would be sweet!! That is something i want to do in the future as well. Wow sweet i have a growing number of contacts in the Seattle/Bellingham area good to see that you’re coming around! Keep in touch!

Note to everyone:
When i say PLUG AND PLAY i mean the unit is plug and play to the original V6 engine and the car it was in. This means that you still have to setup 5-7% of the wiring as well (around 5-10 wires depending on your engine). I will provide detailed info on where the wires go for the ecu to fire up. Sorry for not putting this up from the begining, be assured tho that this is alot easy to wire up compaired to doing EVERYTHING on other standalones. |

Hydra EMS
I have been awaiting the website to be up for almost 8 months now. Love to see the progress. As you might know, I had Ricky from SpeedFactory install a turbo kit on my 2002 Tacoma with the URD ftc and afr calibrator. These piggyback systems are very difficult to tune!! SO, I began shopping around for a standalone kit. A couple of guys stated they really liked the aem systems. But, sinice there is not one for our trucks, it would be around $4000 installed
To my question, Since I will be swapping for a forged motor and uping my boost to 22-25lbs, is your system easy to work with? Can you make an application for my truck? Will the cost still be around $1500-1700? Have you had any complaints about this system AT ALL? By the way, I really appreciate what you are doing for the 3vz & 5vz world!! |

Hey! What is your handle on the Tacoma/4runner forums? Greedy?
I know i am behind on my site still, just been so busy in shop that i have not had the time to sit down and put a few hours into that site...i really want to! As for your setup...The hydra has a 3bar map sensor built into it so you got the best resolution possible in that sense no need to go out there and buy a extra map sensor. The system is very easy to work with...you should go ahead and get the software from hydraems.com and play around with it. It can be very intimidating to start off with but once you know where all the maps are and how everything works it will be a breeze. You are running 5spd or auto? The BASE price for the hydra is $1500usd then it goes up when you add a Parallel harness to keep things like auto control and cruse control(+300), or add the wideband control function (+375) The only complaint i have ever gotten was the wideband o2...it uses the more expensive l2h2 which people dont like to pay for but it makes up for it in terms of accuracy and reliability. Other then that i have heard nothing else....MR2 Users have been using the Hydra for years now in many applications...high horse track cars or just mild HP street cars. All i need from you to make this work is the Year, Engine Model (Tacoma/4Runner/T100), 4wd or 2wd & AUTO/5spd. Oh and you welcome :P I love these v6's and cant wait to get more products out there ![]() |

Same...yotafreak81 "You are running 5spd or auto? Want to keep cruise control. I already have a wideband o2 installed, will I need to replace it? Thanks for your time! |

Ahh ok now i remember (looks over some posts)
Ricky does some amazing work over there from the pictures i see all over yotatech and customtacos! Well worth what you have to pay for that kit thats for sure. As for the wideband, yes you can keep the one you got. You just have to keep the stock ecu for your CC then. Where are you located? |

Just wondering if you got any base maps for 1mzs yet? I am 95% sure that I am going to retain the stock ECU (cause Im broke) but I am still curious.
