I like the stock body too.. but I don't like the frame rail that you can clearly see down the sides of the car.. even painted it looks crappy. So, the only way to fix that is side skirts.. then your front and back wont' match up with the level of the side skirts.. so you gotta get a body kit.

I agree. Not to mention that a big nose is just going to get scratched and drag. I like the original best.

Only if you have manly ride height set at max low and don't pay attention. I drive my drift car on the street and i have less than an inch of ground clearance

Exclamation

OEM???
NO WAY!!!
I love to have an unique car!
Isn´t there anything worse, as standing at a meeting or car-show with
200 cars looking the same?!?
Probably just thinking so here in good ol´ Germany...

1. You can be unique and SUBTLE with an OEM lip
2. I would rather be subtle than try TOO HARD to be different ...and yes there is definitely a fine line between good taste and bad

eh if you say you absolutely love your mr2 and want to transform every part of the car so you can't even tell it's an mr2 anymore then you're lying cuz an mr2 isn't an mr2 without original mr2 parts, but that's my own opinion :-P

I really think all of this mess about body kits having no place on our cars is absurd, where do you think the idea of these kits originated from? It's an aerodynamic enhancement. Sure most kits don't have any wind tunnel testing, your argument about performance mods totally covers functional aerodynamics. Also someone said they only do performance based mods, so whats the deal with your clear corners mod, doesn't seem functional.

Abflug, Ask Sport, Border Racing, Bomex, Top Secret, Version Select, Origin, BN Sports, etc ALL have wind tunnel testing completed on them AND are proven to work in the sports they were designed for.

......um, you could, i don't know, maybe check on madpsi.net under authentic imported kits and then click on the Phoenix Power (Garage Fukui) link. Maybe that's a start?

Thank you thats what i'm talking about, its total bs for these guys talking about how its purely aesthetic and that only the 93 is a viable option and that they only do performance based mods. I don't personally have any body work done, but if I found a kit with a true aerodynamic enhancement that wasn't made of fiberglass and I had the money I would be all over it. In all honesty, I don't even care what it looks like, its beauty through functionality.

ABFlug has the most aerodynamic sides, the border front bumper *could* be the most aerodynamic (with proper ducting of the radiator through the hood of course) outside of the Veilside (also with proper ducting), Ask Sport's rear engine hatch cover (somebody HAS to have one of these for me to make molds of!!!), the under panels that Baktasht is selling, and if someone actually made a diffuser that would be universal with all mr2 exhausts you would have a pretty highly aerodynamic car.

Unfortunately, most people don't do that because they either don't understand it, don't possess the tools/knowledge on how to do it, can't find the parts/can't get the parts anymore, or my favorite: Don't have enough money to do/get the parts.
