Why can't people just leave mr2's as they are and not try to turn them into other cars?!?!

I would be more than fine with a full new body for the MR2 that did not replicate another car, especially in poor fashion. I actually don't mind the one Ferrari body an owner here had, it was nicely done and high quality work went into it.

I just think if you're going to re-body the car you might as well make it your own design, unless of course you're bad at car design, then leave the damn car alone.

I think they did a pretty good job with it.

As far as quality goes it looks like an excellent job. I guess I would just like to see somebody do something original and exotic for once.

Late 60's mustangs aren't hard to come by, and they're a really fun car to have. Not really sure why someone would want to turn an MR2 into one.

Doesn't really look like one. I think it was their idea of having an updated version of the GT350.

Am I misinterpreting the article title?

Did you read it? Did you notice the '?' after Eleanor? Maybe it's there because uhh does not exactly look like one.

I don't see why they couldn't have made it look the same had they wanted to judging by what they managed to accomplish.

and with styling inspired by Eleanor
Inspired being the key word I guess.

Maybe it's there to indicate surprise or disbelief in seeing something, like when you pass someone you haven't seen in a long time and say "Tommy?"

It's blatantly obvious that the attempt of this body kit was to try and make the MR2 look more like a Mustang, and I still don't understand why someone would want to take their car that way. That said, it looks like a lot of work.

Like I said, I think they did it because they wanted to make a NEW style mustang based on the 350. I'm sure some GT350 fans out there will want one.

EDIT: The other thing is, depending on the year and condition of an original GT350 you could be paying some megabucks.

I really doubt a true Shelby fan is going to be buying a kit to turn their MR2 into a bad "updated" imitation when there's imitation Shelby parts all over the place to give your true Mustang a face-lift.

Besides, there is a NEW style Mustang based on the late 60's Shelbys... and it's a Shelby.
