You should paint the front and rear trunks as well.

OK so here is my poor mr2 sitting in our paint booth, waiting for me to finish the paint job. I finished working the flaws out of all the body parts that were taken off the car. I need to do a little more sanding on the hood, and it should be ready for me to go ahead and finish up. Oh and i fixed the front bumper up nicely.
more pics to come. And sorry about the crappy pics it does no justice for the color. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() oh and you can see our subaru powered buggy in the back there, its almost finished. just a few more small things. It already runs, and quite nicely. ![]() |

i sprayed my old del slow that ferrari red an it covered like ****. you shoulda used a red sealer that woulda helped a lot even a light grey would cut you material costs down a lot. looks nice. why so much color sanding though. why didnt you just sand the hell outta your clear your going to anyway. im sure its gonna look nice when its all done. an btw all painters are assholes. its part of the job, i know i can be. ha

If you want a nice finish you color sand a LOT!

eh i paint at bmw for a living an its really not necessary to color sand that much unless you are dumping paint on there, its dirty or it lifted. i nib all my jobs out, even when i do all overs on new bmw's or my friends cars i dont get that detailed.but then again we have some brand new garmat booth's. i could see if you found imperfections but theres really no reason to color sand that much. all you doing is taking color back off you just put on a putting more on. its not really going to affect your overall orange peel. i would much rather put the clear on like glass an sand it from 1500 an finish it with some 3000 an buff it up to look perfect. half the time an youll end up buffing an allover anyway to knock some dirt nibs out. just my 2 cents. though good luck i wanna see when shes done.
