Poll:Does your A/C work
So I just sold one of my 91 turbos and it had a weak a/c that needs a charge some freon and maybe a few new seals to get it going nice and cold. I personally spent almost a thousand dollars trying to get my A/C to be a freezing as it is now between freon hoses, seals, and more than 2 wrong compressors. Anyway the guy who bought the mr2 told me he looked at four before mine and not one had working a/c so I'd like to do a poll to see how many people have working air conditon.

My AC blew cold until I removed it. The T-Top still blows cold though.

I need two votes... my 88 S/C has good cold A/C, but my N/A blows warm air... haven't tried to charge it yet, that's a project for this next week. I'm curious to see if I can get it to cool, it does work, just needs coolant (as long as it doesn't have a leak).

My A/C has a leak somewhere, but in Socal, you can live without A/C so I didn't care. Now I moved to Reno and I wish my A/C worked!

If I care about the car, I remove the A/C. I've removed the air conditioning system from 2 out of the 3 MR2's I've owned, and both of my RX-7's. The other MR2 was stolen before I had a chance to remove it. My daily driver Civic has A/C, which, when I tested it once for no good reason, works pathetically (almost as bad as the heat), but I don't use it, because I hate air conditioning.

As for my A/C I'm not sure if it works are not, but the switch is stuck on the heater side, so I can't slide it over to A/C I hardly use the A/C on my other cars, but it would be nice to know if it works on the MR2 |

Are you bringing your MR2 to Reno? As for the climate control, this might help a little: Climate Controller Tab

I made sure it worked before I picked it up. However for the most part just pop the t-tops and dont fool with the a/c.

Mine didn't work when I bought the car because the AC compressor was seized. I fixed it when I did my engine swap a few years back and now it blows ice cold at the vents. I find that I mostly use it on long trips otherwise I usually just take the T-tops off or roll down the windows.

I need a/c... even with t-tops off, I can't get by w/o it. I hate getting out of the car, shirt covered in sweat. Humid days and and really sunny days are the worse... can't stand parked at stoplights with the sun shining down me, sweat already rolling down my forehead. Some hot days, I don't even drive the car because the a/c doesn't work.
Thinking about selling my car(cause of lack of a/c, among other things). Next mr2 I get, it has to have functioning, ice cold a/c... no ifs and buts about it. |

Out here in the valley of the sun, its pretty much a necessity or you will burst into flames! Mine works great! Not quite as cold as the 88 Celica I had. It would freeze your eyeballs solid!
