First Pics For 2009 [HDR]

My cousin just got his Type R converted and wanted to get some shots... I'm an absolute fan of HDR because I like how the photos look like paintings.

This is my first attempt at HDR'ing and I'm no photographer. I only have a crummy point-and-shoot camera with a tripod so don't expect professional pics.

Enjoy

nice pics but you can see on some of the pics i.e. the altezza how a higher resolution you get from an expensive camera could make it better but overall im impressed

i really don't know what HDR is. all i know is that you're supposed to take a bunch of pictures in the same position at different exposure settings (dark, medium, and light), then merge them all together. after that, you play with program settings to get it to how you like the picture to be...

*shrugs

HDR is High Dynamic Range.

The reason you take a lot of pictures (3 to 5 is fine) is because the camera does not have the ability to pick up the range of exposure your eye can, so a bright day may look great to you, but in your pictures the car is great, but the clouds are just blown out.

You take a picture with shorter exposure to get a good look at the sky or brighter objects, then progressivly longer exposures, or different F stops to get good shots of the lower lights, and shadows. Then, using software you merge all the photos together to get one beautiful shot.

Check out this link, it has some great info on how to do it.

what he said....

these just look like photo shopped pics w/ high iso or photos taken at a extremely high iso (noise) im not digging them;

an attempt of HDR look in the background where you can clearly see the details (normally shaded areas)

Thanks, the shot in my sig is just straight out of the camera. I just reduced it's size to fit on the forum. No HDR used here. I will go back and do some HDR shots of the cars so you can see how good it can look.

You don't even need to HDR to achieve these pics or the ones in the OP. All you need to use is the Shadow and Highlight Filter in Photoshop. instead of snapping multiple pics and merging them, you can create layers with different exposures using the S&H filter. Then you can use a layer mask to either hide or show whatever you want in the final print.
