Boyce's MK1 Build Thread

Well finally got another MR2. Recently I have owned a 86,89 91na and 91 turbo. Years went by without one.... until now. My friend called me up and some guy that had his towed (due to dead engine) did not want it and gave it to him. My friend sold it to me for $400.
Well a uhaul and 700 miles later I got it home.

Specs:
1985 MK1, white, all original, 5spd, sunroof, power windows, climate control, cruise control. Overall good shape inside and out with a exception of a dented front fender. No damaging rust found on body so far.

Plan:
20v ST swap, C52 w/lsd, Eibach w/tokico illuminas, 15x7 kosei r-1 w/215 45 15 Victoracers, then autox!!!
On with the build

DAY1
Towed it home to oregon with my newish diesel truck.

Notice the MR2 is smaller than the uhaul trailer. This allowed it to be towed in speeds excess of 75mph+ through the desert: well beyond the uhaul's fender conservative advertised limit of 55. Bah.

DAY2
Mike Moon and I removing stuff from engine preparing to drop it out.

Frunk w/spare tire even! w00t

Mike removing the intake manifold...

More to come.

Keeping it on road? Or just a track car.

I do not know yet. I have to find what class the 20v will put me in. If it is pure track car, then I will go all out with the suspension, GC, konis, 245s. Still doing research.
Maybe I will start out with a street car, autox it and if it feels like it this is a car I want to pursue as a track vehicle then go nuts with it.
