From Sh*t Red to Nice Black
Hey, thought id throw a couple of photos up, it was freezing when we did them and I was on a roundabout so the photographer was in a bit of a rush, and the car isnt 100% put together yet, the wheels need to be cleaned as does all the trim.
But she was red with pealing clear coat, very poor paint job and now she is at least all one colour. When its all cleaned up the photographer is going to do a bit more of a pro shoot and enter it into a camera club comp so that should be good. ![]() ![]() P.S that AWESOME green stripe just under the rear bumper, yeah, thats masking tape, thats how I roll, left over from the paint job. And the Paint job cost $340 NZD and then $60 NZD for beer. + HOURS of sanding that B*tch it had had many paint jobs, all of them poor, the left hand door had just been painted red straight ontop of the clear of the white door underneath, it wasnt even sanded back first *sigh* Last edited by Denz; 06-20-2009 at 06:58 AM.. |

Haha I know where that is and how we NZers roll
Looks pretty good you get much grapefruit skin or "dry feathering" from too much air? A coat of paint on the wheels and it would be mint![]() And I know what you mean by cold. Hamilton has been freezing I woke to this the other morning: ![]() ![]() Made +3hp with the intercooler iced up ![]() |

I didnt want it high high gloss, so he did some magic and its come out not high gloss. The guy who did it was a pro painter for 30 years but had a head injury so haddnt painted for a year and when he did the final coat was soooo high and drunk he missed a few of the parts hanging up haha.
The wheels will stay unpainted but the tires will get blackened a bit. Rims are on the agenda at somepoint in time. |

Hmm interesting I wonder what colour is the best to inhale
![]() I have some nice rims I don't want much for but they are 5x100 which sucks because they don't fit. 15" is a good size on the mkII not for much other reason than they clear the strut easy and the tyres are cheap. |
