Off with ye ole' spoiler! *lots of pics

So I was finally bored enough to take off my spoiler. It was going to be only for a few hours so I could see what it looks like, but I actually like it a lot. I was inspired by seeing a red MKII in the latest MR2Only magazine, it's really grown on me. So I asked the body shop guy at my dad's dealer how much he would charge me to fill the holes, and he said he would do it for free.

Enough with words, it's time for pics! Plus if anyone wants to buy the wing, PM me an offer. I'll sell cheap because I'm saving for a re-paint, plus a few other odds 'n' ends.

Then with the power of degreaser, rubbing compound, wax, and elbow grease, it's gone!

with a few stains that wouldn't go away.

The tape is only temporary. And the wing is in perfect condition minus clips that go on the side fins. They really aren't neccessary anyway.

Looks pretty good.

The MR I just bought looks just like yours...only mine still has the spoiler...Yours is even messing a little paint on the back right of the car just like mine is.

Looks good, the whole car appears smaller, tighter. It's incredible how many holes Toyota drilled in that nice body for that accursed wing. What is it, like a round of golf - 18 holes?

nah man... i would've kept it on. atleast do a 94 spoiler now... to each his own.

It is real hard to seal up those holes as well I'll point out. You can't just bog them up because they will break through. You have to weld, grind then bodyfill smooth otherwise it will fall through or rust. I had to fix my boot after the PO put a huge spoiler on the back and distorted everything and left some holes as well.

i dun fancy it without the wing, cars that are designed with a wing tend to look like... if you follow the lines from the front it has a very aggressive stance. when you remove the spoilers, i find it looks like the aggressive stance kinda falls off when you hit the ass of the car. thats just my op, to each their own. that was a huge dif before and after you cleaned the dirt off haha! i think i will remove my wing to clean under there.

I used to say things like that, but I think it's grown on me. But by the time I don't like it, I'm hoping to have enough money for a 94-95 spoiler.

Heh heh! Joe has a point, though it's only from certain angles. Some meaty wheels and tires will bring back that MR2 edge quickly though.

Noooooooo, well.... mr2's look sexy anyways.

But i think the spoiler was put ther OEM for a reason.. i wouldnt mess with it. but then again its just personal choice. I also think it looks allot more agressive with the spoiler.

GOOD FREAKING JOB cleaning all that dirt tho.
