June 2006 MR2 Showcase

Congratulations to Ken, MR2Board's June 2006 Showcase MR2!
1999 Toyota MR2 Turbo

Click the below thumbnails for fullsize pictures:

This is a car our very own Phoenix found at an MR2 meet in Japan. Right now there's a little lost in translation, but the owner and his friends plan on joining MR2Board.com soon!
At first the car may look like your run-of-the-mill TRD widebody, but it's actually an authentic kit, fitted by TRD Japan. It didn't stop there. All modifications done to the car were commissioned by the owner to be completed by TRD Japan. It's truly unique! 4
Ken, the car's owner shows his MR2Pride with license plates that signify AW11 and SW20, which he owns one of each.
Hopefully everyone enjoys the car as much as we did!

This car was amazing to see in person and definatly deserves the June Showcase winner. congratulations Ken.

I am working with a few Japanese guys to get registered on the board. They can read and write a little better than speaking so hopefully they will bring some great knowledge to the board.

actually, i didnt get a peak at the engine, he was hesitant to show me so i smiled and declined. He didnt give me any engine mods so either its a bone stock 99 3SGTE or it has some crazy engine it that is G14 classified.

no, i figured it would be cool to submit it though so i did get a full parts list from him and jeff and I took all the pictures. I figured he had as good of a chance as anyone, although with the little nominations the board has been getting lately, i figured his chance was better than average.

I thought there were rumours of the trd2000gt having somewhere around 500hp?

Maybe it has the v8 like the racing version of the mr2 had.

This isn't a factory produced TRD2000GT, it's only a car that has an authentic kit fitted by TRD.

A beautiful car, nonetheless.

daer lord

omg, that thing is beautimus. i must say for some reason widebodies look better in white. maybe its cause you can distinguish the lines and depth better. i cant wait to get started on mine now, every time i feel like just selling the kit i see something like this and get a renewed vigor to acomplsh this awesome feat of MR2 beautification.

congrats and i humbly bow down

Tight

Nice and clean. Same kit I am wanting to put on my 93, but I'm going to use a Cadallic Pearl White paint...sorry...damn that color is just to sweet. What are the offsets and size on the rear tires? I wanna go with a 8.5 to 9.5 wide in the rear and an 7.5-8 inch in the front, but wasn't sure what offset to order to keep the lip inside the body.
