Support from " Beat the Heat"
To the MR2Board staff:
The Beat the Heat (BTH) project is coming along pretty good. I'm sure you've prob heard or seen the thread. I wish more peopel would contribute, I'm speaking about input not parts. Anyhow, I've spoken with CpuZapper (Dylan) cause he's one of our guys. We've talked about how we could support the " Board", since we are exclusively here. I'm talking bout some decals, I see you've got sticker we're prob gonna order some for our cars and the project, or something that would show how much we appreciate you letting us be here. I'm thinking we prob have the longest thread on the Board and we are always doing "different" projects with regards to our MR2's. I'm not asking for anything, really more of wondering how we could help the Board with our current project. BTH is a national organization that is also supported by local governments. So lets get ourselves out there and let them know who we are! Thanks again, your tolerance is much appreciated, hehe. Zai Last edited by MR2Board; 01-09-2007 at 01:03 AM. |

Of course anything we can do to get the name out there would help tremendously.
I have to admit, I didn't see much of the thread since it was in the regional forum, I will pay more attention to it now. I should be asking how we can help you. We are here to help and appreciate everything you bring to the board.

Thanks again for your contribution and offers. I hope everyone that hasn't noticed the thread takes a chance to read it.
For those of you that have never heard of Beat the Heat: They are a non-profit organization consisting of retired and active law enforcement that run a retired police car at the local drag strip. Their goal is to get out and touch base with the current generation of street racers to try and get them to move to the track. |

You get the satisfaction of knowing you outran a cop "legally", and depending on their budget a t-shirt or sticker that says, " I Beat the Heat", LOL.

No, it's a national organization with chapters in many large cities. The local BTH is very small they only have 8 members. The thread is in the pacific northwest regional forum. We decided to put the thread there since it's local, but eveyone is invited to participate.

Zai knows more about the Beat the Heat org than I do, so I'm glad he was able to field some of the questions there. I'm working to organize the build (and doing a shoddy job of it
) and we'd love to give the MR2Board it's little bit of glory in the project. This forum has given us both a place to meet and share ideas, and we've gotten a lot of feedback from people too.Hey MR2Board how big are those fancy schmancy new sticker things that you just got in? Might have to go have a bigger set cut.In terms of info about the project, lots of it is in the Project: Beat the Heat thread under the PacNW area. I believe that the car is going to be dedicated in memory of SE-RMR2's father who was killed by a drunk driver earlier this year. We are going to be running a turbo'd 3vz mated to an S54 w/welded diff. Lots more details left to be worked out, but it's going to be an awesome project. Check back for more details as they emerge. |

The ones we have available right now are fairly small. He have images attached in the decal thread:
http://www.mr2board.com/forums/site-...om-decals.html We can get any size you need cut though. Please let us know. |

I'd say at least some the size of the rear glass panel behind the doors, maybe something for the length of the side skirts would be slick.

They have a sign shop as a sponsor so we can have almost anything put on the car. The doors are reserved for official law enforcement decals. All we need is a template, like one of the stickers, and they can enlarge it for any part of the car. There will be a list of names on the fenders of everyone that actively participated in the project and all of the other sponsors. Dylan is the project leader and is responsible for keeping a list of all the donations. Large items will get a tax deductible credit, you'll have to figure that out with whoever does your taxes, since it is for a non-profit organization.
