New board feature testing: Selective Forum Filters

MR2Board.com is a well rounded community with features that appeal to many different groups of MR2 enthusiasts. We cater to all 3 MR2 generations, have regional forums, as well as off topic sections. We have installed a forum filter that will allow you to filter out areas that are not part of your interests. To access the filtering options, simply go to Edit Options in your User Control Panel (User CP).

http://www.mr2board.com/forums/profi...do=editoptions

At the end of the options, you will see the following:

Press CTRL and you will be able to select multiple sections. This will remove the selected forums from the forum list and ignore those forums if you select the New Posts or Unread Posts options at the top of the page. For instance, if you are a MK1 owner and don't have any interest in the MK2 or MK3 MR2 stuff, you could filter those so only the MK1 topics show up. Maybe your an NA owner that doesn't care to see all the Turbo threads. It's customizable to suit your own needs.

NOTE: Site Announcements, Check-In, Sponsor forums, and General MR2 Informational forums cannot be filtered. Also, you will still have the ability to search any filtered forums.

Play with the settings and report back your impressions. This is deployed solely on a trial basis pending community feedback. Please cast a vote once you've had a chance to test it. Enjoy!

Why can't we have this in real life. I would so block my wife sometimes with "Selective hearing".

It's not working for me - I choose to filter a lot of MKI stuff, but I still see it all the time?

What ever happened to this feature? Did it go bye-bye w/ the new updates or is it just discontinued? It doesn't show up in my 'Edit Options' section anymore and my filters are gone too.

It wouldn't be possible to take this feature and block certain users from appearing in my view, would it? Guess I'm asking for the moon...

I think your only option is to block users globally, not by section, by adding them to your ignore list.
