New board feature - vBulletin integrated FlashChat

We are pleased to announce a Chat service that has been integrated with vBulletin so you can automatically use your board username and password in the chat session. Once in the chat room, you can chat in one of the available rooms, or your can private IM any member in the room. This will be very useful for those who do not have an instant messenger account or software installed, but would still like to converse instantly with other members. It can also be used to send files to people in the chat. To access the chat, simply use the following link:

Once that page displays, click the login button next to "Start FlashChat using built-in login".

You will also now see a "Who's in the chat" section on the forum home page. http://www.mr2board.com/forums/index.php?

Since this is a new install, please report any bugs you may find in this thread. We will get links posted to the Navbar up top later. Enjoy!

Brian do you have yours set up so you need to log in to do it, or did you install it so it integrates into your database, and can pull your user session, so if the user is logged into the site, and has an active session cookie it just knows them, and their status (like the mods and admins would have ops in the chat room)

Thats how i did it for my celica board. Works great.

And of course theres a mod you can do to your template on vbulletin that will tell you whos active in chat if anybody and what rooms are currently active.

It's an integrated install, and we have the Who's in Chat mod enabled on the Forum home page (not the main page).
