? To the MODS,Am I Still In newbie Mode?
I am just curious why my threads dont show up on the boards for a while?
Is it that i am still in newbie mode and they have to be approved by mr2board? Also, Are there any percs to being a mod? am just curious as to whether mods are actually compinsated for the rather large amount of time they have to spend on the site.....I know I know its really none of my buisness but again im just curious How are mods selected BTW?Thanks |

The only perk is the good feeling you get from serving the community. Moderators are not paid for their time. They do it simply to help promote interest in MR2s. Any monies recieved here go toward operating expenses or back to the community in the way of new features, contests, and event sponsorships. The moderators in place here are covert to the extent possible. Postings and private messages from this account (MR2Board) could be from any number of the moderators we have on staff. Many of the PMs are automated when a moderation action takes place such as deleting or moving a thread. We feel the individual moderator is simply another member of the community and no better than our newest member that has signed up. The ideas behind the covert moderators are to prevent members from sucking up to moderators or moderators abusing power. In short, moderation on MR2Board.com is a function, not a role. As for the moderator selection criteria, that's also not disclosed since some members could be incorrectly indentified as moderators based on that criteria since many members would qualify. The moderators so far have been hand-selected, but we'd never hand-select someone who has asked to be a moderator. It's not based off the amount of time here, post count, or anything like that either. We think that someone who asks to be a moderator wants to be one for the wrong reasons. That is the jist of it. We hope that helps answer your question.

Yeah that sums it up pretty good, And i guess i have just been looking in the wrong place for my threads? at any rate i was just curious about the mods, And the idea of mods being stealthy and no better than the newest member is great! Thanks for answering my question mr2board, Im going ot go find my threads! LOL

Yes He is. Now watch yourself or He'll damn you to hell (that means you'll have to own a Honda).
Actually, I've noticed on this board more than any other that I have to force a refresh on a thread I just posted to in order to see my last post. Not sure why but it's only on this board that it does this. Perhaps this is what's happening to driftmonster when he can't find his post? |

Yeah, I'm sure it's a browser thing too but why only this site? I'll screw around with my custom settings, I have settings per site on my browser.

I post here all the time and I've never had that happen.
