You guys have a language filter in place? Whats the deal with that?

There is a section on the board where (pretty much) anything goes.

The language censor has been implemented on a per forum basis. There are unrestricted forums for that sort of thing, and the censored words are very few in number. I still want the board board to have a professional image, as well as having a laid back atmosphere, so there are places here for both.

I think that if a member can't handle a bad word, I'd really evaluate whether or not I want a member like that on my board. Your policy doesn't bug me, since you founded your site for primarily the same reasons why luni and I founded Celicatech. I just think that filters clash with laid back. Sometimes a little ****e can make a thread fun to read as long as it is not horribly derailed. Back to lurking.

That's the ticket.

The whole language filter thing is more because this board is publicly viewable/indexed, and therefore open to anyone and everyone to see. We want the board to be taken seriously.

Compared to what the mr2 forum alternatives are, this board is very laidback.
