Avatar rule violation?

First of all, I'm not trying to be an ass but if you want people to follow rules you just might want to make them easier to find. My avatar (in my opinion, didn't break this mysterious "avatar rule") I didn't see any nudity in it. It wasn't racist or vulgar or discriminative. WTF seriously. If you're going to be giving someone infractions you just might want to explain more than "avatar rule violation" WHAT RULE! You know, Josh told me that my other avatar was breaking a rule because she was NAKED, and I took it down.

I can understand some of my previous infractions but this one is kind of stupid.

Up to this point we haven't had hard and fast rules in place because using common sense or your best judgement worked quite well. So now thanks to you, we'll post hard and fast rules so there will no longer be any misunderstandings. Thanks. The bottom line is you know it was pushing the limits.

You know, I knew it was close to the line but I didn't think it was bad enough to earn me another infraction. Whatever though. Blame me for the rules. I'm the cause of EVERYTHING.

Excuse me for thinking it was a little harsh, giving someone an infraction for a stupid avatar instead of kindly pm'ing them explaining it was a bit too extreme.

You do realize that you can gain a whole lot of sympathy by taking issues with the board up privately through PM, not in a public forum- right? If you think that you're singled out for being the cause of so much, did you ever consider maybe you are part of the problem, and it's not everyone else being unfair?

I'm not looking for sympathy. In a lot of the PM's I get from mr2board it states. "please do not reply to this message" Who else should I pm?

I do however apologize for the avatar.

The whole purpose of the infraction system is to let you know when you do something that we rather not see you do. It saves time for the moderator in question since the notice gets sent to you automatically with the reason for the infraction or warning. The infraction expires after a period of time and no one else sees it anyway, so what's the harm? It's the only way for us to keep a reliable history of offenses. Had you not posted about it here, no one else would have known. If you felt the need to question it, then sure, PM the MR2Board account. The reason it says not to reply is because the PM comes from the MR2Board account and not the moderator who issued the infraction. A thread is created when an infraction has been issued and if the other moderators feel the infraction was not necessary, it can be reversed. Making a public post about it is not a good way to get it reversed though.

If you think it may break the rules you are probably right.

yeah, maybe. The problem is people that do that regularly are seldom capable of handling the consequences. If you are going to push the envelope don't get butt hurt when you get slapped for it. Nothing is more annoying than people that cannot own the fact that they may have screwed up.

x2 if i step out of line and someone tells me i did so and they have experience and authority to "slap" me i should take note of that. im kinda getting tired of the whole superiority complex that i think some people of power not only here but other places have. i was warned about a post i made, and then not 2 minutes later i was sent a notice i had a negative mark on my SN, i was like WTF?! some warning, but then they reversed it and explained what happend, i still didn't agree with the decision to remove my post but i understand it.

No one likes having something they have said removed. but that doesn't mean people that do that are on a power trip. In order to keep order sometimes people have to do unpopular things. Mature people put it in there pocket and take it as a learning experience, immature people piss and moan and kick and scream bloody murder over it. If you have a problem with it start from the bottom and work up the chain of command. The last thing that should happen is a public outburst over it. 9999.99999% of all problems can be handled behind the scenes.

To me anti-power trip rants are more annoying than "power trips". And nothing is more annoying than someone getting asked to remove something and a big **** fest ensues.
