How about an alternative fuel section.

With the impending engergy crisis, I think its time to start talking about alternative fuels and perhaps even turbo diesel swaps, gass electric hybrids or, all electric power plants.

Can we create a unique all reneration forum for alternate means of propelling our 2's?

Jim

I've seen propane conversions tons of times. But only on carburated engines.

Nope, but we shall see. This forum is growing very fast though.

I think it has potential at least as a fuel economy section.

Yeah, very true, and a hot topic these days too.

I'll see what the boys think..

On a related note, the other day I was thinking that the diesel engine from a Japanese Starlet would make a really economical MKI daily driver

Someone should swap in a VW TDI. I've read articles where they've ran 13 second quarters with mods, and I bet they get 30 mpg while doing it.

Well, there are a few Toyota diesel engines (Even turbo like the TDI) that would work in the MKI and MKII as swaps so there is a potential for keeping the 2 alive even when there are no more fossil fuels .

I think its a good idea even if its not a busy forum. Just a place for folks to keep a record of what works and bounce a few ideas off each other. As the oil price per barrel continues to climb the forum will get more popular though.
