I can tell you that we called Ben's MR2 his girlfriend, same amount of time, money, and love was spent on the car as if he would of had a girlfriend. That was the joke around here. As far as Ben's driving skills he probably logged 10 times as many hours a week behind a wheel for the past 3 years on these crazy roads around here than I did. He was a Domino's Pizza delivery guy at night so he could go to school in the mornings. The particular road he was driving on scared me doing the speed limit in daylight. I blame no one it was just a tragic accident. I want to thank the guys at Exotics Inc for being good friends with Ben and Shane they loved going over there. I only have one picture of Ben in the finished car

Thank Ken Borawski and Family
I couldn't have said that any better myself. It brings me more to closure seeing a picture of Ben AND his car together as no one here at the shop has pictures of him with his car. Ben was like THE most favored person that came to the shop and there was never a dull moment when he was here. I'm so glad I finally got a chance to meet Ben's family, even though it was under these circumstances, and that I didn't know that he spoken about me at all to you. Ben was a great person and he will be surely missed.

I have been busy the past couple of weeks so this is late in delivery.
My condolences to the family.
It brings to mind that we need to do more in teaching people to drive these wonderful cars we own particularly the young I think driver training maybe through the clubs around the world could reduce the potential for this tragic accident.

I would also like to express my deepest condolences to the families of these two great men who passed. I only briefly met and talked with either of them on a few occasions, and could already attest to their mature behaviors. I can not comprehend how the families are taking this news, but I know with circle of friends these men had they will have support and help from guys such as Soco, Daryl, and all their other friends.

May God be with their families and friends in this time, and may Ben and Shane rest in peace.

it really is a shame that tragedies like this happen and it seems we dont learn from it. more and more people are taking performance cars and doing things that are meant for track and properly set up roads. just like the twin towers it seems we come together for a bit then forget until the next loss of life. i think all MR2 web sites and other sports car web sites should have a homepage with a main theme of safety and a list or banner of names of people whom died driving their beloved beasts so that evertime we log on we are reminded of the concequences of irresponcible driving and maybe even lead us to take a class on defensive driving to better protect ourselves from the idiots out there.

i have almost been killed by an elderly driver pulling infront of me on my bike, and almost seriously injured when being irresponcible on the infamous Sunrise Highway in Alpine, Ca. in my 1st duece. so i can atest to both sides of the spectrum of how dangerous it is to not be a well versed driver in both responcible driving and defensive driving.

R.I.P.

Just remember never to push so hard on open public roads, it's not worth it guys (and gals)

Save the 10/10ths driving for the track. Stay safe.

Please refrain from making this thread into a safety issue. I've had to deal with this from other members and had their threads deleted. Like I told others before, if you want to talk about safety, please post in another thread. This is for Ben and Shane that have been MR2 owners for years. Also the car that we finished for Ben wasn't Turbo and it was an automatic which made it slower than you typical 5SFE motor.

I hate seeing stuff like this, I'm really sorry for all his loved ones having to deal with this unexpected and horrible event. We can only hope that he rests well and that this serves as a reminder to all of us that there isn't an excuse in any way shape or form to drive recklosly. We all have limits, test them out on the track, not on the road.

Once again, really sorry to hear about this and i can't imagine what it must feel like for a parent to lose thier child and i can only pray that i never do. God bless you and your family and I can only hope that some of us take these events into considderation next time you start down a winding road or even worse a long busy highway.

PS I just turned 20 myself and really took this to heart as i also recently lost a friend on a bike.
