Forum rule update - Linking to competing forums & privacy issues

As some of you may be aware (if you've read the Forum Rules), links to competing forums have not been allowed here for quite a while now, whether posted in the general forums or via the private messaging system. This was done in response to censorship enforced by the competing forum in question, namely mr2oc.com (regardless of what they may have claimed regarding this matter). Since it has been determined recently that this restriction has been lifted, we will follow suit here as well. If we find that links are still secretly disappearing to any of the sites listed in the signature for this account, it may very well be reinstated here, but hopefully it won't come to that. Both forums have a lot to offer.

Privacy issues

Enforcement of this policy, particularly with the PM system, has been passive. The system was configured to flag references to mr2oc via PM automatically and queue those PMs for moderator approval, so while we didn't actively read PMs, obviously we would see those that violated that rule. In most cases they were deleted and the sender would be notified if time permitted, but that was not always the case.

There will remain one exception to the PM privacy rule. Again, as stated in our Forum Rules, if a user gets placed in the Banned Sellers group for selling infractions (in which case they will be identified with a Banned Sellers title under their name), every PM they send will get place in a moderation queue for review to prevent the individual from soliciting sales via the PM system. Anyone having a problem with this policy has the option of not selling here, or simply conducting their sales honestly, in which it will never be an issue.
