problems in user CP...

trying to change the options in my user CP so that each thread will show 50 posts per page. i find it easier to view a thread without switching pages if i want to refer back a few posts.

but when i change the option to "show 50 posts per page" and hit the save button, i get a Database Error page...

also, and i've noticed this a few times now, there is a thread in OT that, in the main page of OT, says the last post in the thread was at 8:28am on 8/14/08 but when you click on the thread, the last post shown was at 11:42pm 8/13/08.

http://www.mr2.com/forums/off-topic/...er-have-2.html

not that it's a big concern of mine, it just seemed strange that when i got on the board, that thread was at the top of the page, but had no new posts (that i could see)

If there is a poll and someone votes, it pops up on the main page, even if someone didn't type anything.

Yeah, that's correct. You're just seeing the last time there was a vote which also bolds the post. As far as the DB error not sure, sure the admins will take a look at that though.

EDIT: User CP DB Issue seems to be fixed now.

The issue has indeed been taken care of. Thank you for pointing it out. It is posts like these that help us track down and fix any known or sometimes to us, unknown issues.

ok, user CP is all fixed. thanks "Staff"

and i see what you are talking about with the updated threads... i get it now.

Thanks guys, i appreciate the effort on getting things worked out.

edit: does it put too much of a load on the server if i have it set at 50 posts per page and there are alot of pictures? i mean, more of a load than if it was set at the default 20 posts per page? i dont want to contribute to overloading or slowing the server if i dont have to...

No, that's fine. If it was an issue we'd remove it as an option. Thanks for pointing out the UserCP issue. We knew the errors were occurring because we get emails everytime there is a database error like that but we couldn't tell what was causing them. Your tip made finding the problem very easy once we knew how to duplicate the problem.
