My car's been here 6yrs, a 1994 MR 2, black and low and fast as...
![]() ![]() I've owned her since last March when I bought her from a dealer with MOT, reg documents etc etc...now failed MOT as I don't appear to have a rear fog light...what the f^&k?! Is it normal for Jap MR2s to not have them and how should I fit one? Really don't want a crappy bolt on job... |

You could raid a junk yard, that's what i would do anyways, they always have good stuff like that :P
What is the rear "fog" light anyways? |

if i remember correctly uk was the only country that needs rear fog lights. there was someone on this forum selling one not sure if he still around. but yeah. i would see if your toyota dealer would have one and cut your bumper to make it fit or the junkyard and pick one off. gl to you man

Ha, your replies are funny, thanks guys - I knew it's not standard, maybe UK MR2's have them...I don't even know where a Toyota dealer is around here as it's v rural and I ain;t from around here! To ebouwman - it's a red light, at the back which you turn on in fog!! Surely you have fog in Canada?!! How do you stop cars driving into you from behind in heavy fog?!!

Also here front fog lights are an option not required, which is imo stupid, and we have lots of A holes who drive around with them on all the time, or have massive offroad lights strapped to the front of their trucks and use them on the highway ![]() I think the UK is the only country required to have rear fog lights. Also i believe our brake lights are brighter than european standard, so that could be why we don't have fog lamps. Do you have two reverse lamps or one? because if you have two you can modify it so that one is red, and then get it rewired to act as a fog lamp. Then it'd be legal, and you wouldn't have to butcher your bumper or get some ugly bolt on. In canada (at least where i live) we don't have to take an MOT every 5 years, only if you have to put insurance on it in another province, or if a cop tells you your car isn't fit to be on the road (happened to my brother for having a crack in the exhast) |
