I don't think we should enforce any rules, it just seems considerate to try to make it easier for people to help you. Also, we have non native English speakers here and they generally make a great effort to use the best English they can. The effort is all that counts!

Yes, and those whose primary language is not english type with better grammar than most of us in the US.

its a car community.. not yahoo answers. if you want to help, do it! if you dont, you just dont have to. i glaze over tons of threads because it burns my brains out to answer really bad questions, but i just click back. then again every once in a while ill make a repair thread on a common issue that people have.

its not a job.. i think you're kinda over thinking it. efficiency in getting people the answers they want ASAP isnt the point of a community. if someone needs help and they've been generally pretty cool and contributing ill go out of my way to really help.. ive replied to hundreds of pm's and a few people even have my phone number, thats what a community is about though. if someone wants to troll in and be a **** and demand answers, i could care less if they cant find them, and im not going to help.

dont get discouraged.. instead of trying to help everyone and get frustrated when people keep asking the same stupid questions.. just step back, its supposed to be enjoyable for you too. contribute to what interests you and if the noob questions arent cutting it for you, just avoid them. i think its fair that people kinda catch the drift that no ones here to hold their hand, but that there is a community willing to help if they're willing to be part of that community.

all in all.. if you want to compile information in one location, it'll get stickied, and people will appreciate your effort. same with original content. compiling information is a LOT of work, we cant expect the mods and admins to hand us everything.
