4 cars on the road going 60 in a 55, lets pull over the one with the wing/exhaust/anything not stock. That's the thought process of the police around here. (I keep saying around here because I don't want you to think I'm speaking for all the police in the world) These are all rough estimates I'm trying my best not to over exagerate, but I really do drive a lot, and I really see a lot of accidents. I see about 1 dead person a month, and it makes me sad. |

And yes, I would punch the guy in the throat for doing it. (oh come on, it's just an expression!) I can appreciate the guy that put in the work though. And cops pulling us over (although I've had little problem in THAT area of the law) has nothing to do with safety concerns. The US budget is 1.7 TRILLION this year, they have to skim $$ everywhere they can. Don't even get me started on that subject, I thoroughly HATE police, US government and they're slimy, low-life, pathetic ways of taking our money and telling us what to do. There's a guy on here with a quote from P.J. Proudhon in his sig, it's a GREAT quote. (don't know the guy though) |

"I have personally seen about 6-7 fatal accidents caused by street racing in the past 2 years due to my driving habits"
Come on... doesn't that put you in the same category as the guys that slap the wings/exhaust on their car and think it's save to drive fast? |

I agree imweip. I've seen so many "street racing" wrecks, fatal or not and it's a civic or accord with wheels and a wing. Graphics and guages. Let's see, FWD + huge wing = less and less traction on the drive wheels the faster you go.
I firmly believe most if not all of them deserved to die. It's called natural selection, I just hope it was before they reproduced. It's a shame how many innocents are hurt do to their stupidity and also how bad others are looked upon because of their actions. And I would fit into the grandma category, save for a few safe corners and parking lots. I also drive a lightly modded 300hp gen3. *love* |

You do realize if you see a wrecked, riced Civic you're likely assuming street race, where if you see a wrecked, completely stock Taurus, you're only assuming it wasn't.

When I see a wrecked civic, ricer, etc, I can look at the damage and guess at the situation pretty well. This is one of those occum's razor situations where it's just more probable it was from stupid driving or lack of driving ability more than anything else.
I was mostly referring to what the news, etc. has said was street racing. And I've seen many other vehicles besides ricers. A taurus would be a good example, people around here will 'race' anything, I mean ANYTHING. And it seems the worse it is, the more they want to race! |
